"We'll share the happiest home in these hills, in these hills."

Bonus points if you can tell me where my subject quote is from!!

So, I wanted to continue my post from last night.  This post will touch two topics...Alyssa's visit and Halloween.

My cousin Lee, his wife Natalie, and their daughter Alyssa are in town for the week.  They're leaving on the 13th and I'm doing my best to hang out with them as much as possible.  Thanks to my schedule, that hasn't been easy.  Thankfully I'm off today and tomorrow so I have time.  I met with them at Magic Kingdom when I got off of work.  I got a huge hug from Alyssa and I took her on Goofy's Barnstormer.  (It's sad to think that that coaster is probably more of a thrill than Space Mountain.)  Anyway, Alyssa had a blast.  Lee rode with her while Natalie and I caught up.  It was fun walking through the parks and talking about life down here.  Lee and Natalie wanted to hear all about it and I had a great time talking to Alyssa about her visit.  She met the princesses...and by met I mean she was almost too nervous to talk to Aurora and Cinderella and blew past Belle without even a hello.  lol

We made it over to Fantasyland and the four of us somehow squeezed into a teacup.  Don't ask me how.  (Family joke...it reminded me of Cedar Point all those years ago and watching Lee trying to squeeze into the Jr. Gemini cars.)  After the teacups, Lee discovered that I still had yet to ever ride Space Mountain, so the two of us headed to Tomorrowland.  The wait for Space Mountain was maybe 20 minutes because the parks are pretty dead right now.  Space Mountain was a blast!  Didn't scream once.  Once I knew that the highest hill was about 30 ft and the top speed was about 30 mph, I was ready and set.  It was so much fun.  I can't wait to ride it with the lights on.  (Note -- as of now, the only real big thrill I have yet to ride at WDW is the Tower.)

We met Natalie and Alyssa back in Fantasyland and I took them on Philharmagic.  They all loved it.  It was so fun to watch all three of them try to reach for Donald and the yummy treats.  Alyssa was so cute.  "It got me wet!"  We headed over to Adventureland and by then it was Extra Magic Hours.  Alyssa rode the carpets twice with Lee and Natalie since I couldn't ride anymore.  Finally, we headed to Pecos Bill's and they treated me to dinner.  Mmm.  I'm waiting for my laundry to finish so I can go meet up with them at the Studios, though I might zip past MK on the way to say hello to a few friends.

OK, so HALLOWEEN!  One of my favorite holidays of the year!  (Early Ed major and Theatre...this holiday was MADE for me.)  Plus, I'm at Disney where people are not too cool to dress up.  Thank goodness!

Well, the highlight of Halloween down here is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.  It features a special parade and fireworks, as well as very rare character meet and greets.  (I found out Tarzan and Jane are going to be out!)  We get a discount on the tickets for select nights.  As of now, the parties are selling out, so I need to get on the ball with this.

I'm going to at least two parties due to my costumes.  For one party, I'm going to go with Phil and we are going as Peter Pan and Wendy!  Rob is almost finished sewing Phil's Peter Pan costume and he's having my nightgown sent in so he can dress it up a bit.  The costume looks so amazing...and it was really simple to make.

For the other party, I'm going with a group of friends.  Liddy, Crystal, and I are going as the Sanderson sisters from "Hocus Pocus."   Liddy is Winnifred, Crystal is Sarah, and I'm Mary.  Our theme is the Sanderson sisters go Halloween so we can afford to not look exactly like the movie.  Rob is going as Billy, Winnifred's ex-lover who is now a zombie.  Rob bought the material for us for the costumes and is going to get started as soon as he's finished with Phil's.  Meanwhile, the girls and I are rehearsing hag tracks and "I Put a Spell on You" to perform at the park.

A few of you may have remembered that I brought down my ren faire dress for the program.  If I can't make it to faire, I think I'm going to just pick a random day in late October to wear that dress to the park.  No reason.  Just to dress up.

Well, I have to go get my laundry and get dressed.  It's sure to be a busy day.  I'm off today and tomorrow then I get to hang out at the Studios with Pixar pals all next week.  I wish I could work at the same place as my friends.  But, oh well.  It'll happen.

Keep wishing!
