So, a quick overview about today before I head to bed for the night. :) I love my late nights.
Today was my first day off after 6 straight days of work. And let me tell you, it was grand. I met Crystal and one of her roommates on the 8am bus. (Yes, you heard me. I woke up at 7:30 AM on my day off.) We saw the Magic Kingdom opening and quickly got on Jungle Cruise, Pirates, and Aladdin's Carpets with no wait time.
Around 9:45, we found a seat on the shady side of Main Street to scope out the special parade. They decked out Main Street with red, blue, and silver balloons. The parade lasted literally about a minute...it consisted of a high school marching band, eight motorcycle cops, Chip and Dale holding a banner, a convertible with Michael Phelps and Mickey Mouse, and a bunch of random people walking with Goofy and Pluto. And that was it. (I did take some pictures that I will post soon.)
After the parade, we went to Captain Jack's pirate tutorial. I became an honorary member of his crew (and I have the scroll with his signature to prove it). Following that, we went downstairs so I could get my paycheck...and it wasn't that bad for 40 hours of work, plus 10 of overtime, minus double the rent and taxes.
We walked across the parking lot to Cast Connection and Property Control, which are cast exclusive stores that sell new merchandise, faulty merchandise, and even items left over from the lost and found. (Bins of lost sunglasses for twenty-five cents each.) I ended up getting about $100 worth of merchandise for around $8, including two adorable postcards, a how-to-draw the Disney fairies book, a poster of Minnie Mouse and a little girl, and the coolest Tinkerbell bag in the world! (A $28 bag that I got for $3. And it's in near perfect condition.)
I came over shopping and took a nap. A long one.
Clara came home and we made dinner. We ended up going to Wal-Mart with Liddy and Jackie to cash paychecks and get groceries. Ben and Rob met us there and we all stocked up for our kitchens and various party nights we've planned. I also got the ingredients for noodles and egg, which makes me happy. Lately, I've really been wanting a meal that consists of more than just one item (ex. chicken with potatoes and a biscuit, as opposed to a bowl of pasta). I can't wait to make noodles and egg. I'm also waiting for Cassandra's recipie for her paprika chicken. I don't know where this cooking urge has come from. Oh! And I'm going to surprise myself for my birthday and bake that Oreo cookies 'n' cream cake. YUMMY!!
It's gotten a tad chilly in here lately. I think I might invest in another blanket.
Anyway, the guys went their separate way and all of the girls came back to our place, where we ate cookie dough, ice cream, and cool whip while watching "Rent." It was such a typical girls' night and I loved it.
Tomorrow promises to be an entertaining day. It's my first day working at Epcot. Luckily, it's a shorter shift. Tomorrow is also when Spectromagic comes back. We were supposed to see the 9pm Spectro, but Rob doesn't get off until 9, so we might see the 11 instead. And then we're all getting together to hang out, which is where some of my favorite CP memories come from.
I found out today that I need to go talk to someone at cast services. I was talking to Clara about our color code preferencing. Apparently, it is not a good idea to preference everything that it available to you. On one hand, it does show that you are willing to do anything. But, on the other hand, then they can't tell what you are truly serious about. If everyone preferenced everything, what would be the point in preferencing? So I think I might talk to them about that at Epcot tomorrow. My first choice would be the Christmas parade. I'd also love to work at Cinderella's Royal Table. I know the hours are rough, but I think it would be amazing. Other than that and Disney Dreams Come True, I really haven't thought about much else. My color code lets me get involved in things, but not as many as others. Oh, well. I am bound and determined to become a yellow/yellow.
Clara's mom is visiting next week and she's bringing us a bunch of decorative things for the apartment. And Rob discovered that the Wal-Mart fabric department has all of the needed materials to turn Crystal, Liddy, and me into the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus for Halloween. (Don't know whether that's set in stone or not.) I've been online looking for a non-slutty Wendy dress and I have had no luck. But, oh well.
OK...I need to be up in 7 hours, so I think it's bed time.
"...and so good night unto you all.
Give me your hands
if we be friends
and Robin shall restore amends."
(Yeah, yeah, that's Shakespeare and not Disney. But I love it!)
