"After all, it's a step in the right direction..."

First of all...

Check it out!  Yeah, I was a little unhappy that it said 'Berg and not Cleveland, but who cares?!  I've got a freakin' Disney nametag!  At that moment, I wanted to run home to pin it on to my smock from working my one Christmas season at the Disney Store.  lol

Today was Traditions.  Clara, Jackie, Nicole and I all headed to the bus stop and met up with Mike there.  We also saw Jonathan and a couple other people we knew.  We rode the bus to Disney University, which is behind the Magic Kingdom.  Inside, there are photos all over the place and cells.  It's gorgeous.

Before we went into class, they scanned us for the Disney Look.  My hair is fine.  One guy was given a plastic razor and was told to go shave.  I heard a few people got sent home and had to reschedule.  We were given our IDs and our nametags!

Mike and I were in the same Traditions class, along with Robert, who is also going to be an entertainer (and has training with me).  Glad to know someone in my training group.  Our instructor was from Puerto Rico and was really funny.  Traditions really wasn't all that bad.  We learned the history of the Walt Disney Company and how it came to be.  We discussed the present time and typical things at any workplace training sessions, such as lawsuits, sexual harassment, how to respond to people when they ask how many Mickey's there are, and how to answer "What time is the 3 o'clock parade?"

All in all, Traditions wasn't bad at all.  Since I might be working with this company in the future, I reminded myself that I was on stage and participated all that I could.  Mike and I were definitely the Disney trivia gurus in the group.  But it was only a four hour class.

By the time we all got back, we were whipped.  We all took a quad catnap and woke up to sitting in the lobby with our individual bags of potato chips and laptops.  lol  By then, it was almost 8, so we quickly changed and headed for the parks with our new IDs.  We got a lecture from our bus driver.  He told us that Cast Members have to be out of the parks an hour before park closing so that working Cast Members can get the buses, since they obviously have priority.  He was a creepy little man.

We were dropped off at the TTC and rode the express to the Magic Kingdom.  It was so fun to be there with my girls...not to mention getting in for free!  We marveled at the castle for quite some time and had a photographer take roommate pictures in front of the castle.  Jackie, Nicole, and I are all seasoned veterans, so we dragged Clara back to the Haunted Mansion, which she loved.  Mike met up with us and we all watched Wishes together.  It was incredible...we were literally surrounded by fireworks.  Before we left, Clara and I each got a pineapple float and walked through the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.  It was my first time and I liked it.  Nothing crazy, but it was nice.  We rode the resort monorail back to the TTC and caught a bus back.

I am completely exhausted.  Jacquie wants to meet up to get ice cream after my first day of training so I can tell her about my "first day of school."  lol...I adore this girl!

I want to get on the Hub so badly.  I want to find out more information about the STAGE club and sign up for the Candlelight Processional Choir before they run out of spaces.  They opened it up at the beginning of August and they only have 500 openings per vocal part.  Thankfully, there is no audition.  But there is for the stage choir.  I haven't decided if I want to do that one as well.  Mike and I are both signing up for the Candlelight choir once we register for the Hub.

More photos to come soon once I find time to take them!

Off to Neverland...
