Nikki's Life is a Soap Opera -- Scene One.
After a long day of work, I hear from Clifton and Kelly who have decided to take me up on the offer of spending their last night at my place. Josh and I run out to get Chinese food, leaving Clifton, Kelly, Laura, and Ben in the apartment. After we bring the Chinese food back, Erik comes over. As per usual, I saved my fortune. Last night, it read:
"Someone from your past has returned to steal your heart."
After dinner, Ben is tired and falls asleep in Laura's bed. The six of us start playing Disney Scene It. Halfway through the game, Erik realizes he needs to go get his car and Laura offers to drive him. By the time the game is finished, Josh is tired and leaves to go to bed. I set up Clifton and Kelly in the living room and head to my room. Ben is passed out. I change clothes, turn off the lights, and climb into bed, prepared to be asleep before Laura got back.
Five minutes later, I hear the front door open, but don't take any notice. I hear the footsteps coming down the all. Erik and Laura come back in the room. But I hear another voice say, "Man, I hate spare shifts."
...and I look up to see Rob in my bedroom.
I seriously thought I was hallucinating. I got out of bed and we hugged for a good two minutes or so and I'm laughing like I belong in the psych ward, waiting any minute to wake up from a dream.

The real kicker of the story is that Rob has been planning to come back and visit since before he left the program. He booked his flights and told everyone to keep it a secret from me and two other friends. I called Crystal to tell her that Rob was back in town and she said, "Yeah, I knew. Pretty good secret, huh?" lol
So, Rob's in town until the 17th. He brought me my Christmas present: a ceramic plate that has a picture of Pooh, Tigger, and the two of us. In script it says "Nikki & Rob" and "When you're the best of friends." (I'll take a picture and post it later.)
Ben, Laura, Rob, Erik and I stayed up for another hour or so talking. Erik left to sleep for an early shift and Rob joined the sleepover. We've talked about using one of our dining coupons before he leaves and we're also going to the Design-a-Tee store later this week.
OK...on to today!
My Crystal Palace 12-9 became a 12-10:30. I won't complain...it's overtime. I'm spending the next two days making fish faces and mixing the batter at Play-n-Dine, which is going to be a blast. Then praise the mouse for my two days off...followed by a seven day work week. One of my friends laughed and said, "Who did you piss off in scheduling?" Four days hanging out with the little ballerina, a day with the fat hamster, and two days of mixing the batter. We'll see what happens, though. I'm trying to fix a few things.
I'm excited for tomorrow. Libbi and I are both going to be at Play-n-Dine. After we get off, we're going to have girl time in the park. Then I met a friend who works at "Beauty and the Beast" and he's pulling a few strings for us. (I love connections.) I'm excited to see him. He's a really nice guy.
Oh, and the best news...Libbi is getting trained in the new day parade! "Sweet mother of Abraham Lincoln! Yo-de-le-hee-ho!" :) I'm so happy for her!
Well, mixing the batter starts early, so I'm turning in. Have a wonderful evening...and may all your wishes come true!
