Honestly, not a whole lot has been happening lately, but I figured I'd humor everyone with an update, anyway.
'Tis the season for family to be in town! Rob's family is visiting now. I got to meet them one day when we went to the Studios together. They're really nice and keep saying that I need to go see New York and I have to do all of these things. His sister is Scott's age, which is pretty neat and made me miss him. It also made me really excited to see my mom and my aunts, who are coming to visit in a few weeks. Fantasmic was great that night. It's so cool watching the show now that I have seen it all from the back. It kind of gives you a new perspective on things.
The next day, I was working at the Boat Dock with Clara and Rob. Hallmark exploded on the dock and now it's all Christmas-y. We have holiday decor and outfits, too. Rob's family came to say hello. It's weird celebrating Christmas this early. And I have a brand new appreciation for the tale of Frosty the Snowman:
Frosty the Snowman
knew the sun was hot that day.
So, he said, "Let's run
and we'll have some fun
now before I melt away."
Yesterday was pretty fun. After Clara and I got home from work, we met up with Paul, Colin, Ryan, and Fred and set out on our road trip to Cocoa Beach. Our plan was to leave at 6 and get to Cocoa Beach to watch the Endeavor launch. The drive to Cocoa Beach is about 40 miles and typically takes about 45 minutes to make...and the shuttle didn't launch until 7:55. We figured we'd be all right.
Wrong. At 7:45, we were still 20 miles away from the beach. Finally, we pulled into the median of Route 525 with over 100 other cars and parked there to watch the shuttle take off. Clara's got some funny picture of us in the middle of the highway with traffic on both sides.
Looking at the traffic, we figured everyone would be heading home from the launch, so we decided to go to the beach anyway and hang out until the crowds went away. Nice and simple.
Wrong again. We left and 6 for a 45 minute drive...and made it to Cocoa Beach at 9:30.
After our time at the beach, we went to Pizza Hut, as is our tradition. The ride home took an hour and a half. By the time we finally got home, it was about 1:30am and we were all completely exhausted.
Tonight was interesting. Chip and I got to hang out at the Garden Grill at the Land for the first time. It's really simple and he had a lot of fun with some adorable children. I also flipped a few things around and tomorrow I get to spend my whole day with June at SoPHD. There's also a chance I might get to hang out with Chip at Town Square on Black Friday morning, which would be fun. My new schedule is really nice. I'm not thrilled to be working on Thanksgiving, but that was to be expected. These next two weeks are going to be fun. A nice mix of Wazowski, Pooh Bear, Koda, Terk or munks, and probably some PHD pals.
