Christopher had shifted a bit when she started thrashing in her sleep, but hadn't quite woken up until he heard her crying next to him. He rolled over slightly, sliding an arm across her waist lazily. "You alright?"

It wasn't until he spoke up that she even remembered he was there. Her instinct was to shove him away and pull away. Falling apart like this wasn't the side of her she wanted people seeing, unless they were Ben.

But it all hurt too much.

She rolled over and curled up to him, dropping her face into his chest. She shook her head. She didn't want to speak, she just wanted to hold hold herself grounded for the time being.

Christopher knew that feeling all too well, and he just wrapped his arms around her, holding her close and letting her ride it out.

She wrapped her arms around him, hands holding tightly to his back, as she cried. She couldn't even remember the last time she truly cried like that. She just couldn't get the sight of her dead mother out of her head.

After awhile she wiped her hand across her face and tried to speak, her voice shaking. "I don't want to remember."
