Growing Up

Twinkle, Twinkle little star
The road to adulthood isn't far.
Scraping your knees & learning to fall
Wanting to grow up big n' tall.
Climbing fences even higher
Knowing you can be anything you desire.
Giving away all of your toys
Making friends & kissing boys.
Your pourpose in life is looking clearer
You find a companion, a friend, the mirror.
"I'm too old to climb trees"
"Im too old to scrape me knees".
Childish games are no longer funny
You starting to 'play' with work and money.
Looking for answers up above
Finding your soulmate and falling in love.
The days are shorter; The air is cold
Time is passing; Your getting old.
Oh how i wish i could climb trees,
Play in the mud & scrape my knees.
Smiles and laghpter has turned to a frown
Ashes, ashes, we all fall down.

I wrote this the other day in class when i was bored, thinking about how wonderful it would be to be a kid again, and how strange it is that we dont realize it till we're grown up.
