The circle of life...
I am offically an aunt.
Cade Cliftin Hicks was born on Monday, September 19th @ around 5:30 pm. He wasn't the 24" 16lb baby I was hoping my sister would have, but he was acceptable at 20" 7.5 lbs. Both mother and baby are doing well...
One interesting thing to note (and maybe this comes from stereotypes I have from only seeing births in movies or on TV), but after my sister pushed out his head & shoulders, the doctor had my sister sit up and pull the rest of the baby out herself, with her bare hands! Is this normal??? Sounds a little weird to me, and not something I would like to do if I'm ever in the situation of having a baby...
But all is well with them (which is good news) and it gives me an excuse to smoke a cigar and have a pint!
