"Even when you're not sure where you're headed, it helps to know you're not going there alone. No one has all the answers, and sometimes the best thing to do is just apologize and let the past be the past. Other times we need to look to the future and know that even when we think we've seen it all, life can still surprise us, and we can still surprise ourselves."

After much thought with the whole budget cuts and 3 weeks of calling school after school and researching on nursing schools, nursing is going to impacted anywhere I'll go whether it will be outside the states or in CA. So I've now decided to major in human development/health science and minor in psych/bio/sociology. I'll be done and be able to graduate in spring 2011 with a BA/BS. After I get my bachelors in that, I'm going to apply for any good nursing school with a BSN/Master in Nursing. It's a 3 year program and by the time I'm done with that I'll have 2 bachelors degrees, a minor, an associates degree, and a Masters degree.
And in the meantime, before I apply for an accelerated nursing program, I'll continue with my internship and take both an EMT class and a CNA class. That'll have to put me higher up then the other applicants. I mean it'll take me a bit longer, but it doesn't matter. I've known since I was a junior in high school that I wanted to be a nurse. Ever since that ROP program, I've known. So I'm going to do whatever it takes. I'm not going to give up. I'm going to try till I get there. I know I will eventually get to where I want to be.
What's 4 more years of schooling if it'll take me to where I want to be?? If it steers me to my goals and dreams, it doesn't matter how long it'll take.
It's very likely that I will be going out of state or up north for the BSN/Masters in Nursing program. I want to gain experience somewhere other than SoCal. Hey, maybe I can even get in UCSF. lol XD Best nursing school in the US. I can dream can't I? But after I'm done with all that, I'll definitely be coming back to SoCal. I love it too much here to leave forever.
You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own and you know what you know. And you are the one who'll decide where to go.
