Thursday
It’s Thanksgiving! And we have not stopped going.
We woke up and had breakfast in the dining room at 8. Huevos Rancheros…Mmm! The food all looks so simple but has SO much flavor. I love it.
At 9 we all saddled up and went for a 2 hour trail ride. They gave me a horse that is supposedly spirited. He was nothing but LAZY for me later. After the trail ride, Mama and I went out to the wildlife reservation to just look at stuff. Came back just in time for lunch outside at 1. Again, so yummy and so much food. After that was the dudeo. Lol On holidays, instead of doing 2 rides a day, they do a morning ride and then we all participate in a rodeo. We did relay races and barrel racing and stuff. That’s where I discovered my horse refused to lope and would not do anything more than a trot no matter how hard I kicked him. Wonderful. Right after the dudeo was a hay ride around the property. We saw this giant tower with motion-sensored cameras on top…yes, to catch the illegal’s crossing the border. Lol We went and rested after that for a couple hours before our big Thanksgiving dinner.
Thanksgiving dinner was amazing! Regular and fried turkey, pear chutney, cranberry/apple chutney, mashed potatoes, classic gravy, spicy gravy, jalapeno stuffing, goat cheese and cranberry stuffing, pumpkin pie, boubon pecan pie. Ugh! I was so stuffed. Love it!
I passed out early (9:30pm) and woke up at 4am to my first (and I would be happy if it were my last) paranormal experience. Eck!
