I believe I shall start off with a bit of amusement in today's entry...
Had the field trip to Table Rock with the kids right well when we get there we separate the kids into the older group and younger group. Well the younger group goes off hiking first and myself and the older group went and wasted time at the playground. Well we get to the playground and kids notice some geese at the edge of the pond or lake or what the hell it was and the older boys decide they want to go throw things at the geese and piss em off. Well we let them because we hope one of the geese will bite one of the kids. But unfortunately the kids succeed at pissing em off and so they get back in the water and swim away. Well about 5 minutes later the geese come back up on the ground about 20 or so feet from where the boys are and they "top-secretly" waddle back and enclose the boys trapping them between themselves and the lake... it was so hilarious it was like playing how many grown little boys can you fit on one picnic table. Who would a thought geese were that damn smart.
And so that is my bit of humor for the day...
This week despite the kids I have had a few things just knock me down in surprise...
(yes this is where I tell you about some of these events)...
On the way to and from the park, i was paired with... "Bitch Lauren" because we had the trouble kids in our van and naturally because of our ability to be so firm with these particular kids... we get assigned to them. Well I guess you are all wondering how she came to be..."Bitch Lauren". No problem got the story right here for ya... So me and Lauren happened to have had a class in the fall together, Intro to Sport Mgmt. well we were fine until one day in class... there was a... debate. This particular debate involved none other than football and.... rowing. Having been a rower and having been on the varsity rowing team (as a abbreviated as that was) i feel very very very... and guess what very strongly about it. But so obviously me being for rowing and lets just say Lauren just as passionate about football and it obviously being a debate between the two.. it just was no good. And from there on out, she got the nickname.. "Bitch Lauren". Well after our ride in the van, she has totally redeemed herself and now she is no longer... "Bitch Lauren". Knocked me the hell off my feet (had I been standing). We had the most pleasant conversations... it was a heart-to-heart of them all as we ignored our 8 screaming, nose-picking, complaining, redneck-i-wasn't-raised-to-listen-to-this-junk-in-reference-to-the-rap-we-tortured-this-kid-with boys. And so that became the first knock me down thing...
The second occurred this morning as I stole myself away while the kids went to the pool, I went and visited my friend Heather May upstairs. Heather May, whom which many of you won't know, was and still is my best friend from crew. I have not seen her all summer and I have not even really seen her all year since I started playing rugby but she has looked out for me and been there for me like no other friend ever will although D is pretty close. We were sitting in her office today catching up and shooting the shit and out of no where she ask me if I came to a decision as to what it was I was going to do at the beginning of year as far as rugby and such were concerned. For a second (well actually three... i have a 3 second delay as we have learned in rugby practices with the backs) but for a second i didnt understand what she was talking about and then it hit me and i do believe that is the fastest i have ever had to recollect myself as many of you know i prefer slow processes.. slow to get ready slow to walk slow to run slow to talk etc. But so I was just so shocked because after it being an entire year she still wanted me back on the team and in a boat with her. That means more to me than anything because there aren't too people in life that are going to want you to be by their side during something that means so much to them. That is one of life's few precious little things. And because she cared enough after all this time to ask, I will care enough to spend her senior year with her in what is going to be one of the best womens 8+ boat there will ever be in the history of clemson crew. woot woot.
