platoon competitions....
today was pretty great! at the start of the day, we had the platoon competitions in jrotc for almost the entire day. we had first starting was the mile run, then pushup competition, then obstacle course, then brain bowl, then drill off, then relay race and last event was the tug of war. all day was an entire day of fun and excitement.
from the mile run, it all started from there pretty normally. then, during the pushup competition, we had people doing pushups pretty okay. then the rain started to get heavier (b/c we were outside) so then we went inside in order to start the brain bowl and drill off and something that matt did randomly (touch the numbers [???]). the brain bowl was done in another room so i didn't see what was going on but the drill off was very close. during the drill off, every move was carefully manipulated and brought many people down pretty quickly. One really "made the cake" when someone said right face (it wasn't the person saying the commands in the drill off so it was a trick), they eliminated everyone except three people. talk about a tight situation. so that went really well. then it was the relay race, which was very good since we had very good runners/sprinters. then the last event, the tug of war, overall was good. but in the end, i was able to enjoy a good day with the platoon and it was a nice event.
