Nate called

Okay, I haven't up-dated for a while. Just wanted to let everyone know that Nate called this week and he sounded good. He said that he was getting ready to go on a mission that would be 12 hours long. The short ones are 4-5 hours long. He is on the night patrols now then after a while they go back on days. They split the platoon in half and rotate with night and day patrols. He says he likes the night ones the best. I'm not sure if it is because the day one is boring or too hot. It was in the 50's when he woke up on Tues morning. I don't know how hot the days get now, it was 102 around 3pm when he first got there. He said he is doing okay and that he is receiving the packages that different people are sending. They all say thank you for everything sent. The temp there is starting to cool down some so we can send candy and stuff like that now. I packed a lot in the box I sent this week and now I am trying to think of something else to add to the box I'm packing now. I am going to add some pics. He said he wanted to put some up on his wall, so I sent push pins and tape. He said that when they have the long missions, they come back so tired that they eat and then sleep till time for their nest mission. He does get days off but that probably rotates too. I'm not sure how often he can call or have down time. I know he does call some of his friends more than me. That is okay as long as he is doing okay. I just love to hear from him and I know his phone time is limited. He can get e-mail when he gets a chance to get on line. He said that he should get internet in his room by the end of this month.
