[Warning: Spoilers Season 8 finale and Erm... I went a little crazy with the gifs... hum.]

  • ·         Oh Sam, AKA “In order to love you must forgive”.

I just had to start with him. God, Jared did an outstanding job with Sam all this season and during that finale scene, THAT scene, that” how-do-I-stop-loving-you-when-you-hurt-me-so-much-brother?”- scene.

I'm gonna be honest, y’all who read my review and follow my work know that I love Sam

I somewhat disagree with your assessment of Castiel, but only because I consider that, as an Angel, a lot of his choices and mistakes are that of a kid or someone just going away from home for the first time. In Season 4, we see him as the Angel of the Lord who is slowly beginning to question what he's been told. In Season 5, though mostly MIA, he has a driving force to focus on - stopping the Apocalypse and finding God. It's only when that starts to unravel that he begins to lash out (mostly at Dean, who was put in a pretty crappy position of figurehead for everyone) or make mistakes (the 'bender' he went on). From what we saw of Heaven in season 6, power is what makes you top-dog, and Angels tend to do things in the most extreme ways. Balthazar doesn't just misdirect SamandDean with some long Hunt, he sends them to an Alternate Universe to get an angel off his back. He doesn't just undo something small that no one would notice, he UNSINKS the Titanic. Angels don't fine-tune things, they hit it with a sledgehammer and seem surprised when it becomes a melon at a Gallagher show. Cas shows that a lot - he doesn't trust Heaven anymore because of what happened, and between failing to fix it (and now angry at himself for that failure, as well as thinking that was the 'right thing') and Naomi's manipulations earlier, he isn't sure who or what to trust. He trusted Metatron because he was an Angel outside of Heaven - thus, to Castiel, 'safe'. He mistrusted Naomi because of his history (seriously, the woman reprogrammed him, admitted to doing that often, and called him 'defective') and while he trusts Dean's judgment, Angels are still very extreme beings. I doubt he'll be all that ok during Season 9, and will take Dean reminding him that mistakes HAVE to be made, and sometimes people make a lot of them before they start to learn, before he can move forward.

I understand where you're coming from, and I actually thought about all of this, especially the fact that Castiel is an angel with an angel-mentality somewhat still inncocent. But this is where we disagree I guess beacuse, Castiel should have know better by now. Everybody and I mean everybody changed, grow up and learn. Everybody makes mistakes. The game is about to learn from the mistakes you made and try to never do the same. Castiel doesn't learn, he doesn't grow up and doesn't accept any point of view that is different from his, at least when it comes to heaven. And from season 6 to season 8, he had make things worst. This is on him and many tried to stop him and reason with him but it didn't work because even when he had been wrong before, the dude is still convinced he's doing the right things. The innocent-child-like-excuse doesn't work anymore and I don't think Cas is being valoring his grace. Might be a good thing if he realizes precicelly what he lost.

But this just my POV and well, I don't fancy him that much, (the writers's fault really) so maybe I'm biased. But I goota say it's great to read a feedback like yours, it help me understand the character a little more, so thanks Dear! and Thank you for reading my review!
