Lola and I want someday to just drive as far north as we can. So far up into Canada it be cryin'. Until there are just dirt roads and the sky and shit. Maybe until we can see Aurora Borealis. I bet that stuff looks like Sigur Ros sounds.
I read some Castaneda when I was younger. I used to be really into that stuff. I didn't really think it was anything great, and back then I was also really into Aleister Crowley and thought that was worth reading. I'm sure I didn't 'get' that, and felt so overwhelmed by all the Egyptian and Greek and Hindu and Hebrew and Chinese words, symbols, cosmology, gods, etc. I think now I "get" that Aleister Crowley was a crazy man who shat on people's carpets and was probably addicted to ether. Or absinthe or something.
I also haven't read Infinite Jest, but I read House of Leaves a few weeks ago, which is supposed to be very similar but dark and evil. It was wholly unsatisfying, unfulfilling, thought-provoking and interesting.
You should probably stop listening to rock and roll. I've been doing it alot lately, going back in time, sort of. Libertines, White Stripes, The Clash, The Stooges, The Sonics, Link Wray. I'm a fucking bad-ass.
Tell me how the Rakim and Neu! CDs are. Those are both people I've wanted to hear (Neu for years, Rakim for like 6 months, since I first heard of him). Rakim is supposed to be the undisputed master of hip-hop lyricism and stuff. If he beats The Last Emperor, I definitely need to hear him.
Send me a fucking postcard.
P.S. Trembyle has a really good lj.

rakim is fucking awesome. probably top five of the best rappers of all time. most influential rapper of all time. he has been working on a new album forever with dr. dre and who knows if it will be good. most likely, yes.
i am fairly tired of music though. but my two favorite albums now are prefuse 73 and mastedon.
i felt about the same way with the house of leaves. one of the most audacious books i have ever read, but it did leave something to be desired.
i'll find a postcard with a bear or a moose or some animal on it cause i know how you like those things.
