We drove up to my cousin's today in Fort Wayne, IN. We came away with a crib, carseat, swing, bouncy chair, various cups and tupperware, manual breast pump, and baby bathtub. We took them out for dinner for payment, so it cost us about $25 and the trip up there (3-4 hours round trip from Todd's parents in Indy).
This was the biggest score of my life. Well, except maybe for the couch I bought in college for $20 and still use on a daily basis. Also exciting was getting 3 onesies, a sleeper, and four books for $3 at a garage sale this morning. Actually, it was free because Todd's mom bought it. I was just telling my mom that having a baby is opening up a whole new world of frugality to me, and it is pretty exciting. I love being thrifty.
I've been out of school for a week, and it has been awesome. I've gotten a lot done, although I have a lot to do! I have to finish the diaper bag (almost done, worked for 2 hours on Friday), finish my roman shades for our living and dining rooms, finish the quilt I'm making my brother, rearrange my classroom, and get all of my plans in order from the start of school through mid-October at least. I'm hoping I won't be expected to plan lessons for the whole maternity leave, since I won't be getting paid (except for my 1 month or so of sick leave). I also have to get ready for the week of camp I'm directing (June 28th), and go to camp, and I'm also going to a week long workshop the week of June 15th at the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. It's a good thing that I'm excited about all of these projects and they should be fun times!
Whew, all energy I had left is gone. I'm going to bed!
