Nourishing Traditions invades my brain

Apr 08, 2009 13:30

Last night in bed, cuddling with my sweetie, I suddenly said, "I bet buttermilk would make a good smoothie." This is perfectly representative of where my brain is: about 90% food, maybe 3% sex, and 7% everything else. I could not stop thinking about raw milk and lacto-fermented foods and beverages. Earlier in the evening, I'd suggested that we might replace the soy milk in our morning smoothies, and got his moo face, so promised not to press the issue.

Kevin laughed at the buttermilk remark, and we went to sleep. But I am seriously considering getting on the raw milk thing in a serious way. (Whey!) I feel like I know nothing so far about milk. Working with stuff like yeast and bacteria is so cool. You can see where we got notions like alchemy.

I just got finished ranting in gymrats here about exercising and food and the meaning of life, so I'm kind of done. Sorry it's a locked post, but the meaning of life is about having a good time.
