It really didn’t bother him that they weren’t technically his.
Having a baby of his own was far too risky, at least when he wasn’t having it with another X5. There were all kinds of complicated DNA crap going on in his system, and he didn’t want to be responsible for the poor kid coming out wrong. He or she didn’t deserve that and neither did Eva. So when she came to him with the idea of having a sperm donor as the father, he figured why not-he knew better than anyone that family didn't end with blood. His sibs were all living proof of that.
“So they’re twin-twins?” Bailey said slowly, tilting her head to the side. “Not just made from the same genetic make-up?”
“Twin-twins,” Mickey replied with a smirk as his sister peered over the twin babies sitting in the bassinets. Twin boys-identical, theoretically. Eva had named them Weston and Riley, which seemed to work well for them. “Same womb for nine months-whole schbang.”
“Cool,” Bailey nodded, before making a face and rubbing her nose. “They smell weird. They don’t smell like you yet.”
“They will,” Mickey said with a shrug as Eva came up behind them, wrapping her arms around Mickey’s waist from behind.
“You guys okay with them?”
“Yup,” Bailey said with a nod. “Congrats on the littles.”
“Thanks,” Eva nodded. It wasn’t until Bailey excused herself to answer the phone that Eva slid over to Mickey’s side, letting him wrap his arm around her shoulders as she rested her head against his. “We did good, didn’t we?”
“Yeah,” Mickey nodded, tilting his chin to kiss the top of her head. “Yeah, we did.”
