The arsenal was brought from far and wide. Pistola was a target shooting number. Jujupees' got it on with that one. What came out of it for me was that three of four swiss misters plus Alan D enjoy skeet and trap, so we're going to get together to do that regularly.
Much of how a gun feels when you shoot it has to do with how you hold it, whether or not it has a recoil pad on the butt and if it has passive or active recoil abatement system (whatever that's called - I just made that up). Yeah, an old single shot 12-gauge with no pad, no recoil system and held too loosely can lay an unprepared person out. I find that the higher caliber game rifles have a bit more authority to their kick. But shotguns have attitude, that's for sure. I'd be happy to take you to Vernville for a comparatie demonstration some time.
The kids were happily ensconsed at the Granary, as were the dogs. Michelle brought the kids up for the very tail end so they could see what was going on. Earplugs, safe distance, all that. I even had a Safety Dave moment before we started shooting, cuz there were about ten people there, not all of whom would have had an intuitive or experiential understanding of how to behave in the presence of firearms and Pabst. So everyone got a lecture from the Fat Controller.
