Good point. I keep trying to think something with The Princess Brie, but all I can think of is "As you Wiz!" which is just totally wrong.

I know! I was trying to think about inconceivable, too - smarter people than I could do it.

Ok: off to read more Lolita. Humbert has fully seduced Lolita & has just gotten back from a year-long road trip with her. Oh, and has learned to use emotional blackmail on her to make her sleep with him. What fun.

That cheese sounds great.

The road trip would be a dream if you're Humbert Humbert (well, except when you can't get the girl to touch you - poor Hum!).

Man, I've got to get that.

I hadn't read Lolita, either, until we did it for a book club at work, so I had the same perspective.

I was thinking I should write in here some of his descriptions of the American scenery that I've been reading through. I wonder why Nabokov wrote them - they don't move the plot. They're lovely, though.

Yes: she's 12 years old & he's using diversions & threats to keep her with him (aside from the fact that he is the only person she really has in the world); mostly so they can go from place to place & he can have sex w/her up to 3 times a day. But it's beautifully written!

Ok: as enjoyable as this is, I have to get ready for work. I hope your studying goes well.
