It had been a month since Wash had set foot on a planet other than purely to get fuel, then take off again, and he was getting antsy. Well, he and Kaylee both. Mal, Zoe and Jayne at least got to see other people - the furthest Wash got onto a planet was negotiating a price, fuelling up, then back to the ship to either help Kaylee fix something that had gone wrong, or sit on the bridge waiting. The last fuel stop he hadn't even gotten off the ship, Mal had done the negotiating. As a result, Wash was more highly strung than normal, with far too much energy and no way effective to burn it off.
It had to go somewhere, and Kaylee felt the same, it was easy to tell. The two of them found themselves spending more time together, trying to relieve their boredom by playing crazy games. Their latest effort involved an elaborate game of tag around the cargo hold, with much shrieking and laughter from the pair of them.
