“What’re you doin’, darlin’?”
Izzi looked up at him with a sigh. “Homework.”
The look on her face was begging for him to save her. How, he wasn’t entirely sure, but clearly his presence here was meant to be a distraction. At least, that was how he was choosing to see it for the time being. He plopped down across the table from her, resting his chin in his hand and his elbow on the table. His eyes scanned over the books in front of her before looking up again.
“Math?”
She made a face. “I hate math.”
“I think that’s a common theme for most people with math homework,” he said with a sympathetic nod. “Havin’ fun?”
She looked up at him, and it was clear that she didn’t really have to answer that question. Blake just grinned at her, and she shook her head. “Are you here to distract me or help me?”
“Well, that all depends.”
“On what?”
“On whether you want me t’ distract ya or help ya.”
Izzi was quiet for a moment, before looking up and giving him a challenging look. “That depends.”
“On what, honey?”
“On what you’re going to do exactly if you distract me?”
Blake smirked slightly at that, before pushing himself up from his seat and leaning over the table, giving her a warm, gentle kiss. It took her a second before she responded, placing a hand against the side of his face gently. He continued to kiss her for a moment, before pulling back with a grin.
“Well?”
“Distract me.”
