January 13, 2005, A Military Base Just West of Hawaii
A lot had happened in the past two months. A lot of terrible, terrible things.
Libby, Charlie, Mr Eko, Shannon, Ana Lucia, Paulo and Nikki (not that he really ever liked them), not to mention the fact that Hurley had actually killed one of those Other guys himself. Dave coming back from where Hurley had buried him in his subconscious.
It wasn't all bad, but... it was still a lot of bad. And now he was off that island, and he'd just reunited with his mom and dad. But as amazing as it felt to be back with them, he begged them to wait a moment and ran to a pay phone.
He dialed a certain girl's number and hoped that she'd pick up, even after all this time.
[ooc: Yeah, I cheated. But at the rate I was going, I'd have been going through his months on island for the next year! For the girl what he is calling.]
