Hurley'd had a weird set of days since he'd last sat down to write a letter to Hoshi. But today, it seemed like the right thing to do.

Dear Hoshi,

So, I suck at backgammon. If a kid named Walt ever makes it back to the US and says I owe him a bunch of money, I do. Give it to him. He's a cool dude, he deserves it.

Today I took a census thing of the survivors. And I found a dude that wasn't on the manifest. I think he might be evil. He's kinda creepy. Like... creepier than Tom Cruise creepy. Nobody's seen him since I went through the list, though.

Otherwise, things are kinda nuts here. I made a golf course the other day just so people don't go crazy. They're getting kinda antsy and angry. Starting to think we might not get rescued. Plus there's the scary noises at night, and I think there was something I heard about a polar bear.

I'm serious. Polar bear. WTF, right?

I hope you're okay. And that I'm sitting there next to you as you read this, and we're laughing and having a romantic evening and maybe you're wearing that one dress, you know, that one I really like.

Love,

Hurley

After that, Hurley stared at the cave wall for a moment, and then wiped a tear off his cheek.

[ooc: NFI, NFB, all that other alphabet soup. OOC welcome!]
