I seem to remember making a list of
goals a while back. It's been at least 3 months and this is where I'm at:
- Apartment. Yes!
- Girlfriend. I've got a tattoo. That'll get me girls, right? I've also got a crystal that will allegedly bring me a soul mate, or at the very least, weekends full of juggling.
- Money. Well, I got a 25% raise, so that's a start.
- Next steps. Definitely magazine design. Just need an iMac so I can load up Adobe and get started on a new résumé, portfolio and website.
- Money. I should probably try to focus less on money and more on other stuff.
Here are some thoughts and options for the future:
- Magazine layout/design in NYC
- Graphic design/freelance in San Francisco
- RISD
- art classes (Boston Art Institute?!?)
- Boston freelance
This "future" I am speaking of won't be for a while. I want to finish this Middle Grades Science book I'm on, which I don't think is scheduled for press until April 2008? Maybe even later than that, who knows. So maybe I should calm down about getting a computer. Basically, what I've realized is that my little 10-inch PowerBook just isn't going to cut it for getting where I want to go. But I really, really, really don't want to shell out the cash for a new computer (I've only had this for 2 years!). Why can't things just be free?? I just need someone to talk me out of it for the meantime, PLEASE... Why should I wait? Pros/cons, thank you.
