requested fanmix for getyourownpie; Dean & Sam - Keep the Car Running

Mar 19, 2010 01:46

Fandom | Supernatural
Subject | Dean and Sam Winchester.   The Bro mix.   (Dean is likedillinger and Sam is getyourownpie ).
Title | Keep the Car Running
Notes |  This is shorter than some of my other mixes, only because of the golden rule that it's easier to make a fanmix about two people who are having or want to be having sex, and this is a Wincest free mix (well, technically.  Some of the songs sound pretty gay anyways, but that was... unavoidable :C  ).   Despite being shorter, it's still my absolute favorite mix that I've made for this so far, and it just made me... cry in my car.  I'm such a girl. Anyways, this is my love letter to Jaki, the Sam to my Dean, who I'm so glad I've met and gotten to make such beautiful RP music together with~   ILU BB.  20 tracks.   You can still request your own retarded mix here.  Download it inside.

Wonderboy.  Tenacious D.
High above the mucky-muck, castle made of clouds,
There sits Wonderboy, sitting oh so proudly.
Not much to say when you're high above the mucky-muck.
Yeah, yeah.
Wonderboy, what is the secret of your power?
Wonderboy, won't you take me far away from the mucky-muck now?

[spoken]
Now it's time for me to tell you about Young Nastyman,
archrival and nemesis of Wonderboy, with powers comparable to Wonderboy.
What powers you ask? I dunno, how 'bout the power of flight?
That do anything for ya? That's levitation holmes.
How 'bout the power to kill a yak, from 200 yards away...
with mind bullets! That's telekinesis, Kyle.
How 'bout the power...
to move you?

[sung]
History of Wonderboy and Young Nastyman,
Riggah-goo-goo, riggah-goo-goog.
A secret to be told, a gold chest to be bold,
And blasting forth with three-part harmony, go!
Wonderboy, what is the secret of your power?
Wonderboy, won't you take me far away from that mucky-muck man?

[spoken]
When Wonderboy and Young Nastyman joined forces;
they formed a band the likes of which have never been seen,
and they called themselves Tenacious D. That's right,
[sung]
Me! And KG!
[KG (spoken):] That's me.
[sung]
We're now Tenacious D!
Come fly with me, fly!

Wonderboy, what is the secret of your power?
Wonderboy, won't you take me far away from the mucky-muck now,
Oh!
[spoken]
Take my hand!
Young Nastyman, we're gonna fly!
Bring out your broadsword.
There's the hydra.
Slice his throat!
And grab his scrote.
You take the high road,
I'll take the low.
There, the crevasse,
Fill it with your mighty juice.

We start out with this very srs bsness song.
First of all, Tenacious D just reminds me of Dean & Sam, and you'll just have to accept that right off the bat because they come back later.
Anyways, every pair of superheroes needs an origin story~ so this is ours.
Dean is Wonderboy and Sam is Nastyman (sorry Sammy, that's the kind of name you get for... drinking demon blood), and it's the tale of how they are sometimes the most powerful of allies, and sometimes each other's worst enemies, but all in all their tale is an epic tale.  It even talks about your mind bullets, Sammy.  (That's telekinesis).
It's too bad Sam wasn't there when Dean killed a hydra with Percy Jackson or that last part would be perfect.  ;;  But, he was there in spirit.

I'll Be There For You.  Rembrandts.
So no one told you life was gonna be this way
Your job's a joke, you're broke, your love life's DOA

It's like you're always stuck in second gear
When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year

but..

I'll be there for you
When the rain starts to pour
I'll be there for you
Like I've been there before
I'll be there for you
'Cuz you're there for me too...

You're still in bed at ten and work began at eight
You've burned your breakfast so far... things are goin' great

Your mother warned you there'd be days like these
Oh but she didn't tell you when the world has brought
You down to your knees that...

No one could ever know me
No one could ever see me
Seems you're the only one who knows
What it's like to be me
Someone to face the day with
Make it through all the rest with
Someone I'll always laugh with
Even at my worst I'm best with you, yeah

Ok, don't laugh, this song is actually seriously one of my... favorite songs about them.  :c Especially in the earlier days when they angsted about things that are now comparatively not as bad.  A lot of this is about how Sam finds himself stuck in this crappy life he wasn't expecting to have to deal with anymore, but it's okay because Dean is always gonna be there for him, and vice versa.  And no one could ever understand them the way they can understand each other, because they 'know what it's like to be me'.  d'awww.

Also, that line about 'your love life's DOA' is a really distasteful joke about Sam. <.<

Around the World.  The Death Set.
We go around the world and we do what must be done,
It's a top secret mission and our enemies are wishin' that they had a bigger gun.

Look, this song is... pretty simple, I... don't think I have much explaining to do.
Sam & Dean are two totally awesome badasses going around on their secret missions, generally scaring the shit out of things that dare to stand in their way.
For they know the true power of rock.

Keep the Car Running.  Arcade Fire.
Every night my dream’s the same
The same old city with a different name
Men are coming to take me away I don’t know why but I know I can’t stay

There’s a weight that’s pressing down
Late at night you can hear the sound
Even the noise you make when you sleep
Can’t swim across a river so deep

They know my name ‘cause I told it to them
But they don’t know where and they don’t know when
It’s coming
When it’s coming

There’s this fear I keep so deep
Knew its name just before I could speak, yeh

They know my name ‘cause I told it to them
But they don’t know where and they don’t know when
It’s coming, oh when?
But it’s coming, keep the car running

If some night I don’t come home
Please don’t think I’ve left you alone
The same place animals go when they die
You can’t climb across a mountain so high
The same city where I go when I sleep
Can’t swim across a river so deep

They know my name ‘cause I told it to them
But they don’t know where and they don’t know when
It’s coming, oh when?
Is it coming
Keep the car running

On one level, this is about the Yellow Eyed Demon, and the threats of Lucifer and the angels that they don't know about, always creeping closer and closer to their lives.  "They know my name cuz I told it to them" even references when Dean went back in the past and drew Azazel's attention to his family.  Something's always coming after them, and they're always on the run, from something they can't escape.
On a more general level, and why it's the title of this CD, I think the image of them never really stopping the car, but rather always moving on from town to town, perfectly captures what makes their dynamic so... powerful.  They can't settle down anywhere, or make connections to things, so the only thing they have to rely on is ... each other.  And moving forward.

Earth.  Imogen Heap.
Baby, behave, we'll make it work [x8]
Are you with me? [x3]

You're not golden
And I'm getting tired
Act like you own the place
When really you've only just arrived

I caught first glimmers
In hides and skins
Look who's all grown up
Black swanning about the solar winds

You're gonna lose it all
And find yourself on your knees
So, get a grip and you might
Flow, reverse the great, slow bleed

I've tried patience, but
You always want a war
This house won't tolerate any more
Stop this right away

Put that down and clean this mess up
End of conversation
Put your back in it and
Make it up to me now

The cold shoulder
Folded arms and looking up
You've never listened
And carry on careless, regardless

This is not a fire drill and
If we hold any hope
It's harmonic connection
And stereo symbiosis

These legoland empires
Choking out mine now
You're everywhere, everywhere
Multiplying around me, child

A strain on my heart
This rock can't tolerate any more
Stop this right away

Put that down and clean this mess up
End of conversation
Put your back in it and
Make it up to me now

Alright, here's one of those inevitable songs where you have to ignore a million 'baby's.  Just imagine it's Dean making fun of Sam for being the baby of the family.  That fits this song's theme really well, actually.  :c

Anyways, it's not always paradise on the ultimate road trip, and a lot of this song is about the tenser moments between the two, especially when they first reunite in Seasons 1 and 2.  Dean still wants to play the older brother and eventually to even step into Dad's shoes, and he gets mad about Sam's self righteousness, and always feels like he knows the best way to deal with hunting things.  And they both have to learn how to deal with fighting each other on things.  I love the "end of conversation" lines because those are just... Dean to me.  Also the phrase 'legoland' empires cracks me up b/c Brooke asked what Dean and Sam used to play with when he said they didn't have stuffed animals and since he couldn't say 'weapons' he said 'legos'.

Dig.  Incubus.
We all have a weakness
But some of ours are easy to identify.
Look me in the eye and ask for forgiveness;
We'll make a pact to never speak that word again
Yes you are my friend.

We all have something that digs at us,
At least we dig each other
So when weakness turns my ego up
I know you'll count on the me from yesterday

If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me
Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone.

We all have a sickness
That cleverly attaches and multiplies
No matter how we try.

We all have someone that digs at us,
At least we dig each other
So when sickness turns my ego up
I know you'll act as a clever medicine.

Ok, this is my favorite song ever for the boys.  And I'm sure it's been on a million mixes in the past and this is not some grand revelation for you, but I've never downloaded Supernatural mixes and therefore I'm... doing it just in case the universe somehow missed this golden treasure.  Basically, the boys are each other's greatest weakness - but also each other's greatest strengths.  No matter what changes they may go through, they have each other to remind the other of who they really are, underneath everything.  I.E. when Sam's dealing with demon blood addiction or Dean's facing the aftershocks of hell... they both still find ways to bring each other some small semblance of sanity and save each other~

Running Up That Hill.  Placebo.
It doesn't hurt me.
You wanna feel how it feels?
You wanna know, know that it doesn't hurt me?
You wanna hear about the deal I'm making?
You be running up that hill
You and me be running up that hill

And if I only could,
Make a deal with God,
And get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
Be running up that building.
If I only could, oh...

You don't wanna hurt me,
But see how deep the bullet lies.
Unaware that I'm tearing you asunder.
There's a thunder in our hearts, baby.
So much hate for the ones we love?
Tell me, we both matter, don't we?

You, be running up that hill
You and me, be running up that hill
You and me won't be unhappy.

Ok, this is officially my Iris of this mix, because everyone uses this song for everything.  And it verges on the ghey, but just... ignore the baby.  :3

So this is when Sam dies and Dean makes a deal to bring him back, willingly taking his place.  It's... really obvious, so I won't go into detail.

Crossroads.  Cream.
I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knee.
I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knee.
Asked the Lord above for mercy, "Save me if you please."

I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride.
Down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride.
Nobody seemed to know me, everybody passed by.

I'm going down to Rosedale, take my rider by my side.
Going down to Rosedale, take my rider by my side.
You can still 'barrelhouse', baby, on the riverside..

You can run, you can run, tell my friend-boy Willie Brown.
You can run, you can run, tell my friend-boy Willie Brown.
And I'm standing at the crossroads, believe I'm sinking down.

This song might have actually played in SPN, I don't remember, and I'm too lazy to check.  If not, it should have.  Anyways, I don't think I have to explain this either, but uh

those Winchesters sure do have a martyr complex, don't they?

Cut Me, Mick. Yellowcard.
I can't keep this together,
And I might lose this year.
I can't get through December,
And you know all my fears.

Someplace, somewhere behind me,
I walked right through the truth.
Truth is that you're the one thing,
That always pulls me through.

This troubled life I choose..

You are the one that I need,
You know that I can still bleed.
Bring me back to life..
Bring me back to life..
You let me down from my cloud,
You keep my feet on the ground.
Bring me back to life..
Bring me back to life..

When I thought that I might,
Be invincible.
It wasn't long before I,
Was invisible.

To your eyes and I swear,
There's nothing left in here.
And the more you say you don't care,
The more I know you're there.

I can't keep this together..
(you are the one that I need..)
I can't stay sick forever..
(you know that I can still bleed..)
I can't stop this disaster..
(you bring me down from my cloud..)
I can't fall any faster..

So it's SEASON THREEEEE, and Dean knows he's only got a year and Sam is determined to not let him go.  The song's really... obvious, so I won't break it down english major style for you.  It also fits on a general scale, about how they both keep each other grounded, and save each other.

Closer to Our Graves.  Lucky Boys Confusion.
The world is blocked out in the bedroom
The radio won't let her down
Every note is a reminder
Another failure born
Thirty miles outside Chicago
Kids now what's really going on
Still this gravel highway makes a statement
We're another town gone wrong
Moving out and moving on
You used to look like me
Moving out and moving on, forever
And this autumn air reminds
How things slowly unwind
Changing times have been ungood to you
As these days they slip away
We grown closer to our graves
Had the best time of my life, without you
It's three month since I've seen Chicago
Now the building aren't so tall
I found our initials in the pavement
Just another dream gone wrong
I bet it's simpler today
Throwing everything away
But the memory remains, Forever

Ok, so this sounds... really gay, but it's Lucky Boys Confusion so they'll bring some dude power to it.   This is more Season 3 angstiness, and it goes back and forth between 'had the best time of my life without you' and just 'had the best time of my life' because Dean and Sam like to fight and make up every five seconds of their lives.  I'm not going to defend this song anymore than that.

Savin' Me.  Nickelback.
Prison gates won't open up for me
On these hands and knees I'm crawlin'
Oh, I reach for you
Well I'm terrified of these four walls
These iron bars can't hold my soul in
All I need is you
Come please I'm callin'
all I scream for you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin'

[Chorus:]
Show me what it's like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I'll show you what I can be
And say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth saving me

Heaven's gates won't open up for me
With these broken wings I'm fallin'
And all I see is you
These city walls ain't got no love for me
I'm on the ledge of the eighteenth story
And all I scream for you
Come please I'm callin'
And all I need from you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin'

Hooray, first Nickelback song!  Yes, first.  You get two.  Feel extra loved.  SO DEAN GETS OUT OF HELLLLLL.  And this fits... a ton of things, do I really have to explain?  Nickelback is pretty... up front with their deep meaningful messages.

We're in this Together Now.  Nine Inch Nails.
I've become
impossible
holding on to when
when everything seemed to matter more
the two of us
all used and beaten up
watching fate as it flows
down the path we have chose

you and me
we're in this together now
none of them can stop us now
we will make it through somehow
you and me
if the world should break in two
until the very end of me
until the very end of you

awake to the sound
as they peel apart the skin
they pick and they pull
trying to get their fingers in
well they've got to kill what we've found
well they've got to hate what they fear
well they've got to make it go away
well they've got to make it disappear

the farther I fall I'm beside you
as lost as I get I will find you
the deeper the wound I'm inside you
for ever and ever I am a part of

you and me
we're in this together now
none of them can stop us now
we will make it through somehow
you and me
if the world should break in two
until the very end of me
until the very end of you

all that we were is gone we have to hold on
all that we were is gone we have to hold on
all that we were is gone we have to hold on
all that we were is gone
but we can hold on

you and me
we're in this together now
none of them can stop us now
we will make it through somehow
you and me
even after everything
you're the queen and I'm the king
nothing else means anything

THE WHOLE WORLD IS AGAINST THEM BUT THEY WILL ALWAYS HAVE EACH OTHERRRRRRRRR.

Ok, yeah, this song made me cry, and I'm masking my pain with caps.

Ignore the queen and king part, except that Sam is obviously the woman.

Just To Get High.  Nickelback.
He was my best friend, I tried to help him,
But he traded everything, for suffering,
And found himself alone.
I watched the lying, turn into hiding,
With scars on both his ribs, his fingertips...
Were melted to the bone.

But I can still remember what his face looked like,
When I found him in an alley in the middle of the night.
Tell me what you know! Tell me what you gone and done now!
Tell me what you know! Tell me what you gone and done now!
A gun'd do the trick, get it over with,
You're better off...
To take all you've got and burn it on the spot,
To get high-igh, igh, igh (high-igh, igh, igh).

Three days no sleeping, he gave up eating,
He sold his mother's rings, she said nothing,
And pretended not to know...
He started stealing, to supply the feeling,
Found out he pulled a knife, on someone's wife...
And held it to her throat.

But I can still remember what his face looked like,
When I found him in an alley in the middle of the night.
Tell me what you know! Tell me what you gone and done now!
Tell me what you know! Tell me what you gone and done now!
a gun'd do the trick, get it over with,
You're better off...
To take all that you've got and burn it on the spot,
Just to get high-igh, igh, igh (high-igh, igh, igh).
Tell me what did, where you gone and hid?
Show me...!
Is what you really want, watching what you got?
Slowly...!
Circling the drain, throw it all away,

This is the OBLIGATORY DRUG ADDICTION SONG.  This one was the best choice from all of those out there because of the part about what Sam's vampire face looked like.  Also because it like... exaggerates things to where Sam was stealing and beating up old ladies to get demon blood, which is probably how Dean imagines it went down.

Believe.  Yellowcard.
Think about the love inside the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Climbing higher through the fire, time was running out
Never knowing you weren't going to be coming down alive
But you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
Be strong. Believe.

Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day
Never fearing, only hearing voices calling out
Let it all go, the life that you know, just to bring it down alive
And you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed

(Again today, we take into our hearts and minds those who perished on this site one year ago, and also those who came to toil in the rubble to bring order out of chaos, to help us make sense of our despair)

Wanna hold my wife when I get home
Wanna tell the kids they'll never know how much I love to see them smile
Wanna make a change or two right now
Wanna live a life like you somehow
Wanna make your sacrifice worthwhile

After that upliting last song, we needed something a little happier, so here's some ~hope~   Also it's about that martyr complex again, and we can even throw a little John action in here.  It's about the way that even if it makes them feel guilty, they're all grateful to each other for being ready and willing to lay down their lives for each other.  And how they're all big goddamn heroes.  The last part can be about Poppa Winchester, and the last three lines could be interpreted as either the boys taking up the hunting mantle, or wanting to eventually live real lives like their dad wanted for them, so that his sacrifice wasn't in vain.

Have to Drive.  Amanda Palmer.
I have to drive
I have my reasons, dear
It’s cold outside
I hate the seasons here

I suffer mornings most of all
I feel so powerless and small
By ten o’clock I’m back in bed
Fighting the jury in my head

You learn to drive
It’s only natural, dear
You drive all night
We haven’t slept in years

We suffer mornings most of all
We saw you lying in the road
We tried to dig a decent grave
But it’s still no way to behave

It is a delicate position
Spin the bottle
Pick the victim
Catch a tiger
Switch directions
If he hollers
Break his ankles
To protect him

We’ll have to drive
They’re getting closer
Just get inside
It’s almost over

We will save your brothers
We will save your cousins
We will drive them far away
From streets and lights
From all signs of bad mankind

We suffer mornings most of all
Wake up all bleary eyed and sore
Forgetting everything we saw
(I’ll meet you in an hour
at the car)

This song was already on my Dean in Hell mix, I know, but I couldn't make a Sam and Dean mix without it because it's just... their life.  And their horrible guilt complexes.  And need to save everyone ever.  And life in the car.

So here it is.  Again.

Maps.  Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Wait, they don’t love you like I love you; wait, they don’t love you like I love you;
Ma-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-aps;
Wait! They don’t love you like I love you.....

Lay off;
Don’t stray;
Well, my kind's,your kind;
I’ll stay the same!
Pack up;
Don’t stray;
Oh say, say, say;
Oh say, say, say!

Wait! They don’t love you like I love you;
wait! They don’t love you like I love you;
Ma-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-aps;

This is the gayest song on here, so strap in tight for the bumpy ride of me justifying this.
This really hits the chord of what Sam picked up on Dean being bothered about the other day without Dean having to say anything: no matter what other relationships may come into their lives, no one can possibly understand what they've been through the way the other can.  And while Dean loves Claire to death, he doesn't for a second believe that she loves Sam more than he does, since he... died for Sam and was ready to suffer eternal torment in Hell.  And no one knows and loves Dean the way Sam does, either.

And they use a lot of maps.

/awesome explanation

Disarray.  Lifehouse.
I face my demons wrestling these angels to the ground
And all that I could find was a thin line between all the saints
And villains
it was crossed
In my own mind

Some day I'm gonna find it
wish i knew what i was looking for
it's all in disarray
I woke up this morning don't know where I'm going but it's
Alright I wouldn't have it any other way

Struggling between the facts and fiction I'm alone
But I'm alive
Everyone around me is trying to make a statement
Then there's me
I'm just trying to survive

Some day I'm gonna find it wish i knew what i was looking for
but it's all in disarray
I woke up this morning don't know where I'm going but it's
Alright I wouldn't have it any other way

If this was any other day I'd pretend to know where I stand
I just don't know

This song is just about the boys' hard life.  And the thin line between being heroes and villains, and... how they spend their lives just trying to stay alive, and.. the whole big fucked up disarray that is their every day existence.  And how they aren't even sure what they want and are looking for, because they don't really have time to figure it out.

Believe.  The Bravery.
The faces all around me they don't smile they just crack
Waiting for our ship to come but our ships not coming back
We do our time like pennies in a jar
What are we saving for [x2]

There's a smell of stale fear and it's reeking from our skins
The drinking never stops because the drinks absolve our sins
We sit and grow our roots into the floor
What are we waiting for [x2]

[chorus]
So give me something to believe
Cause I am living just to breathe
And I need something more
To keep on breathing for
So give me something to believe

Something's always coming you can hear it in the ground
It swells into the air
With the rising
Rising sound
And never comes but shakes the boards and rattles all the doors
What are we waiting for [x2]

I am hiding from some beast
But the beast was always here
Watching without eyes
Because the beast is just my fear
That I am just nothing
Now its just what I've become
What am I waiting for
Its already done

Things just get worse for the boys, always, but they give each other something to believe in, even when the only thing keeping them going is... simple survival sometimes.  And the last verse just... makes me cry for them both.

Also, hey, there's a part about Dean's alcoholism. <3

How Far We've Come.  Matchbox Twenty.
I'm waking up at the start of the end of the world,
but its feeling just like every other morning before,
now i wonder what my life is going to mean if it's gone,
the cars are moving like a half a mile an hour and I
started staring at the passengers who're waving goodbye
can you tell me what was ever really special about me all this time

chorus:
but i believe the world is burning to the ground
oh well i guess we're gonna find out
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come
Well I, believe, it all, is coming to an end
oh well, i guess, we're gonna pretend,
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come

i think it turned ten o'clock but i don't really know
then i can't remember caring for an hour or so
started crying and i couldn't stop myself
i started running but there's no where to run to
i sat down on the street and took a look at myself
said where you going man you know the world is headed for hell
say your goodbyes if you've got someone you can say goodbye to

i believe the world is burning to the ground
oh well i guess we're gonna find out
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come

Well I, believe, it all, is coming to an end
oh well, i guess, we're gonna pretend,
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come

its gone gone baby its all gone
there is no one on the corner and there's no one at home
it was cool cool, it was just all cool
now it's over for me and it's over for you
well its gone gone baby its all gone
there is no one on the corner and there's no one at home
well it was cool cool, it was just all cool
now it's over for me and it's over for you

It's the end of the world and they know it~
But yes, this is about... facing the Apocalypse, and finding out how much they've grown and changed together over the years.
I like the line wondering "what was special about me all this time" because it's that question of why me that they constantly face, as to what makes them the almighty vessels of doom.

Tribute.  Tenacious D.
This is the greatest and best song in the world. . . tribute.

Long time ago me and my brother Kyle here,...
we was hitchhikin' down a long and lonesome road.
All of a sudden,
there shined a shiny demon...
in the middle...
of the road.

And he said:
"Play the best song in the world,
or I'll eat your souls (whisper:Souls)."

Well me and Kyle,... we looked at each other,
and we each said...
"Okay."

And we played the first thing that came to our heads,
Just so happened to be,
The Best Song in the World,
it was The Best Song in the World.

Look into my eyes and it's easy to see
One and one make two,
two and one make three,
It was destiny.

Once every hundred-thousand years or so,
When the sun doth shine and the moon doth glow
and the grass doth grow oooh

Needless to say,
the beast was stunned.
Whip-crack went his whippet tail,
And the beast was done.
He asked us:
"(snort) BE you angels?"
And we said,
"Nay.
We are but men
Rock!!
Ahhh, ahhh, ahhh-ah-ah-ah-ah-ahn,
Ohhh, whoah, ah-whoah-oh!

This is not The Greatest Song in the World, No
This is just a tribute.
Couldn't remember The Greatest Song in the World, No.
No!
This is a tribute, oh,
To The Greatest Song in the World,
All right!
It was The Greatest Song in the World,
All right!
And it was the best mother fuckin' song,
The Greatest Song in the world!

Allllllright!
'Ti Tuga digga tu Gi Friba fligugibu Uh Fligugigbu Uh Di Ei Friba Du Gi Fligu fligugigugi Flilibili Ah
(Bow) (Bow) (Bow) (Ooh) (Bow) (Bi)

And the peculiar thing is this my friends:
the song we sang on that fateful night it didn't actually sound
anything like this song!

This is just a tribute!
You gotta believe it!
And I wish you were there!
Just a matter of opinion.
Ah, fuck!
Good God, God lovin' ,
So surprised to find you can't stop me,now.
I'm on fire--
O hallelujah I'm found! Rich motherfucker compadre simultaniously:oooh/(Demonic)aaaaah!
All right!
All right!

Bear with me here.  This is obviously not literal b/c Dean and Sam are not in a rockband, but for the non-english majors in the crowd, I will just point out that the Greatest Song in the World is a metaphorical type of amazing song.  It's a song about two bros, traveling, and facing demons, and doing things that are so fuckmazingly cool that they could never properly express the experiences in words to anyone else.  Only they can share the full awesomeness of their epic confrontations, and the impossible-to-duplicate ways in which they face down their demons.

So this song, like this album, is a tribute to them, and the power of rock.

Which Sam and Dean have in spades.

Peace out motherfuckas.
