So. I bought the Dawn Treader DVD and I probably should have waited for a two-disc special edition of some sort because IT KIND OF REALLY SUCKS. The special features are basically just deleted scenes and commentary with Michael and Mark, plus music videos that I don't care about. FAIL. >:(
I'll probably end up listening to the commentary anyway because I suppose they might tell some cute stories about the cast but it's nowhere near as good as actually hearing the cast interact themselves and I'M STILL REALLY CROSS/SAD ABOUT THIS OKAY, THE COMMENTARY IS MY FAVOURITE PART. There aren't even any behind the scenes things. Apparently there's more on the Blu-Ray or something? And from what I can tell there's going to be a special edition version at some point in the future, but. Sigh.
Well, I watched the deleted scenes tonight and took a few caps and thought I'd talk about them anyway.
The first scene is just Edmund and Lucy being greeted by Caspian after they've changed their clothes, and lolol you guys, Caspian's reaction to both. He pretty much gives Edmund the once-over, and is like "Much better." SLEAZY. And then he calls Lucy 'lad' as she stomps down the stairs, and she punches him all playfully SO CUTE. I forgot about how I need a Caspian/Edmund/Lucy threesome in my life.
In the second one, Eustace is lying in a hammock being delirious, and can I just say that Will P. looks surprisingly attractive while writhing about all sweaty in a vest? Anyway, this scene is not particularly noteworthy except that I got some weird enjoyment over Lucy standing by his bedside and looking after him, and feeding him her potion. It was cute.
The main thing I got out of the third one is that I'd forgotten how much I loved Caspian doubting his ability to rule. Like I don't even know why that's such a THING but it is?? Edmund being all "just order them" about the men because it's just like, instinct for him, and Caspian is like "but it'll just provoke them!" all unsure of himself. Also noteable, Ben's beautiful windswept hair:
Ben is really, really, really attractive in this movie. I'd sort of forgotten that, too. I was just starting to think, recently, that I might be going off him a little bit again (visually, anyway!) and then this happened and I was like "hnnnnnnng." LONG HAIR + BEARD, BEN. IT WORKS FOR YOU. Tangentially-apparently Killing Bono has a Treadaway in it. How did I only find this out today? I am now slightly more interested. Although the thought of Ben and Luke interacting in any way is sort of making my brain melt.
Anyway, there were longing looks and tension between Caspian and Edmund:
In this one, even Drinian is like "aaawkward."
Also, Skandar Keynes continues to have a nice face:
The fourth one was basically just Caspian and Edmund having a quiet moment together with some more longing looks, and then being interrupted by Drinian. DAMMIT DRINIAN. Especially seeing as he comes in just after the lines "they were tempted and they faltered" / "and we almost did too" which seemed oddly full of meaning. Was that just me? I mean I know what they were talking about but like it seemed like a very specific we. Idk. WHAT WERE YOU TEMPTED TO DO, BOYS?
In case you don't have the DVD yet and are avoiding spoiling it for yourself,
Three other interviews from the DVD launch with Ben and Will P. have popped up, you can watch them
here,
here (starts 3 mins in), and
here. That last one is especially cute-when Will P. says his thing about feeling like the new boy at school, Ben's like "Was that 'cause of the teasing?" Awww. And then "Do dragons even have eyebrows?", and correcting Will P.'s Italian pronunciation-I get the feeling this was the last interview of the day and Ben was getting bored. I like the ending too. ♥ I really like them together at the moment, I wish I could come up with a specific idea for a fic.
And finally, I leave you with a random picture of Ben and Georgie. Is she resting her head against him? Cuuuuute.
