Overall thoughts.
I wrote so little this year! I'm sort of glad I wrote eleven stories, though, because that's my favourite number...but yeah, I really need to get my act together. I wrote even less than I did last year.
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Less, for sure. Or, well, I probably expected to write about this much, but I HOPED to write more. Which is always how it goes.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
BEN/GEORGIE. FOR SURE. I also wouldn't have predicted I'd write Weeds fic. The general violence and d/s themes might be an answer here too, but I think those were already starting to creep into my writing last year...
What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
Probably signal when you want me (when you want me to stop), because it pretty much turned out exactly how I wanted it. Or you still give me goosebumps for similar reasons, plus it's a pairing/general idea I've wanted to write for so, so long, and it makes me happy that I finally got it done.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
I didn't really do anything particularly different, technique-wise. I said this last year, but it's something I'm always doubtful about so it bears repeating-I can go back to stories I started forever ago, and make something out of them. It's not a lost cause just because it's been sitting on my hard drive for months and months. (Or even years.)
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
Obviously, write more. Hoping to focus on Narnia for a bit, but I also have unfinished The Kills/Dead Weather/Kate Moss stuff lying around that I'd like to continue.

My best story of this year:
Hmm, maybe to fuck and fight? Which is weird, because I actually forgot about it until the very last minute while compiling the list. But I'm quite proud of that one, I think it's quite...well-crafted, or something. I worked really hard on it-it was the first fic I posted after seven months of nothing, and I'd started it about a year beforehand.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion.

Most fun story to write:
Either of the Ben/Georgie ones, weirdly, I think. I also had fun getting inside Cook's head for to fuck and fight, worryingly. And the drabble meme was fun too because I love just mucking about in the Narnia fandom, but it was stressful because of the time limits.
Story with the single sexiest moment:
To me? :/ This is going to make me seem weird. *thinks* There are a lot of moments in to fuck and fight that are hot to me, particularly the wrestling in the woods that leads to kissing, and pretty much all of the weird violent sexual stuff with Cook struggling to accept his feelings at the end. ALSO there's that Jamie-strangling-Alison scene in signal when you want me, oooor Skandar crawling under the table to Tilda in you still give me goosebumps. For normal people though, probably, you know...actual sex scenes.
Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
I kind of feel like none of these are wrong even for me, but then, I did write 29 year old/15 year old and 49 year old/18 year old this year, so uhm. Maybe those. Or...well, everything worth it hurts a little bit is a tricky one because Freddie didn't KNOW he was having sex with siblings, but it's not clear whether he would have been up for it if he HAD known, so it has a slight dubcon element to it.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
to fuck and fight helped me to understand Cook's character more, and appreciate him more too I think. And I hadn't really written Ben/Skandar properly before this year, and that fic made me address how I see their friendship and it did sort of change my perceptions about them, but only in relation to each other.
Hardest story to write:
None of them were actually that hard, I think I gave up on the hard ones. It was difficult getting the night starts here to continue, though, and permanently black & blue (for you) gave me a bit of stress.
Biggest Disappointment:
I'm not sure. I'm still not particularly happy with permanently black & blue (for you), but other people liked it, so that makes me feel better. :)
Biggest Surprise:
To be honest, the last four were probably surprises purely because I didn't expect to write them all so quickly and close together. I thought my days of writing fic that way were pretty much over. I've wanted to write Skandar/Tilda for so long and I think I'd sort of resigned myself to never being able to, as well, so maybe that.
Most Unintentionally Telling Story:
I think signal when you want me, and handful of kaleidoscopes are both quite telling about my d/s kink. Most of the fic I wrote this year is heavy on the sexual violence, actually...and you still give me goosebumps is definitely telling in some disturbing way, but I haven't figured out quite what yet...
A story I want remembered:
Oh, I don't know. If anyone's remembering any of them particularly, I'm happy. :)
In conclusion.
I feel I should mention that I also wrote Dr. House/crossdressing!Skandar and Skandar/Anna titfucking this year. Just because...I did. BUT ANYWAY BASICALLY I SHOULD WRITE MORE FANFICTION, Y/N?
