I will totally be doing more of these when I get a chance!!
TOP FIVE THREESOMES
For
lettersandliars. :)
5. Freddie/Cook/Effy (Skins)
I...seriously find it hard to believe either of the boys is THAT crazy about her. I really think that the reason things got so intense was because Cook and Freddie were each struggling with feelings for each other as well as for Effy. And, idk, a threesome is always a good solution to a love triangle, right?
4. Tony/Sid/Michelle (Skins)
I put this just a little above Freddie/Cook/Effy because I find their dynamic more interesting. I always felt that Sid was pretty much in love with both Tony and Michelle. I think Tony was in love with Sid and Michelle, too, but in a very different way. And Michelle, well...I think she needed Tony, but I think she needed someone to really appreciate her too, and Sid could do that. I can't believe I've never written this one, wtf?
3. Nathan/Peter/Claire (Heroes)
This is...a threesome full of incest. I always feel like the uncle/niece and father/daughter should creep me out more, but it just doesn't. Nathan didn't bring her up and Peter didn't know she existed, so it's just different with these three. And I feel like they all really need each other. (And I know I never mention Heroes anymore, I gave up on it a few episodes into Season 3 and I've been meaning to catch up. :/)
2. Will/Skandar/Anna (Narnia RPF)
The idea just came to me one day, and I wrote it because it didn't seem to exist and I was curious. I didn't ship Anna with either of the boys, I was just interested in the idea of involving her. And then, through writing The Night Starts Here, I ended up absolutely adoring the three of them together. I just...I don't even know, somehow the three of them are weirdly perfect for each other. I can't explain it.
1. Theo/Isabelle/Matthew (The Dreamers)
There's no fandom, but it counts, right? If you haven't seen The Dreamers, you absolutely must. It's one of the most beautiful movies ever. Nothing's that explicit between Theo and Isabelle (who are twins) or Theo and Matthew (depressingly), but the threesome aspect is absolutely the main part of the movie and ughhh their relationship is so fascinating.
TOP FIVE HET SHIPS
For
starrlit_eyes. Uh, I kinda cheated a little with this one because I wanted to include these two honorable mentions:
Honorable mention: Joseph Gordon-Levitt/Zooey Deschanel
I get stupidly frustrated about the fact that they're not a couple. Why are they not a couple? They are PERFECT together and they just...have so much love and respect for each other and ajkdasjks I don't understaaaand. He, especially, seems to be totally head-over-heels for her.
Honorable mention: Alison Mosshart/Jamie Hince (The Kills)
SIMILAR THING. Except with these two, it's more like my brain can't grasp that they AREN'T screwing? Watch any live performance and you're bound to feel like maybe the two of them should get a room. It's hot, but it's kinda mind-boggling that their relationship is (SUPPOSEDLY) strictly platonic. I'm gonna do a post about these two one day I think.
5. Rhys/Beth (Hollyoaks)
Okay, yeah. It's a soap. Sinead Moynihan is possibly the worst actress in the history of the world. The storyline was pretty ridiculous and ended TERRIBLY. But god, I shipped these two like burning. When Rhys fell in love with a girl who turned out to be his half-sister, I was like, glued to the TV every weekday at half six. They kept sleeping together even after they found out they were related! IT WAS AWESOME.
4. Shane/Mark (The L Word)
I, uh. I risk looking like a crazy person here. This is honestly one of the weirdest pairings I've ever been into. In a nutshell, she's a lesbian, and he was her creepster roommate who installed secret cameras around the house to watch her have sex. But dammit, they were FRIENDS, okay? For some reason, Mark falling for her completely melted me, and she even seemed to forgive him for the camera thing in the end. I'm still pissed that Mark disappeared into the vortex of forgotten characters.
3. Peter/Claire (Heroes)
I don't think anyone can really deny the chemistry, here. I mean, obviously Nathan/Peter is my primary Heroes ship, but I just couldn't help myself getting sucked into Peter/Claire because of the way they acted together on screen. That episode where he nearly killed himself trying to save her life, not even KNOWING he'd end up with her regenerative powers and be okay? That sold me.
2. Skandar/Anna (Narnia RPF)
Still not really sure how this one happened. I somehow managed to convince myself to ship it, through my own writing? It still causes me some angst because I hate leaving Will out, but ugh, they are just so CUTE together and I just love their dynamic and how she's kind of...a lot more mature, and he just has this hopeless schoolboy crush on her.
1. Tony/Effy (Skins)
I'm pretty sure I shipped them from the moment they were on screen together, which must've been like within the first five minutes of the pilot. His eternal devotion to her is something I'll never get over. He'd just do absolutely anything for her, and it kills me. And like...c'mon. These two do not have a normal sibling relationship.
TOP FIVE TOPS (AND WHY I THINK THEY'RE NOT BOTTOMS)
For
hypertwink. I found this one really hard because in general, I can imagine people swapping. It's rarely the kind of thing that's set in stone for me, you know? But here are some that I'm more sure of, in no particular order.
Tony Stonem (Skins)
Because...I just. Can you really imagine him getting fucked? I just can't. I can't explain it any further than that.
Nathan Petrelli (Heroes)
This is more about the fact that Peter is such a bottom to me, really. But again, I just can't picture it. It's weird, I don't like the stereotype of the man who's stronger and more powerful always topping, but here it just works that way.
Skandar Keynes (Narnia RPF)
With Skandar, it's pretty much the opposite of that stereotype. He's younger than the guy I ship him with, and physically smaller, but there's something about him that makes it very hard for me to imagine him bottoming. Maybe it's that I see him being more insecure about his sexuality, and fucking a guy is easier for him to deal with than being fucked by one.
Nathan Followill (Kings of Leon)
Lol, idk.
thepodsquad and I have occasionally discussed the alternative when we're talking about Nate/Caleb, but again, it's just something I find hard to imagine. It comes down to personality and the emotion thing for me, and the relationship the two have. Maybe it's an older brother/younger brother thing? Man, I could write an essay on these two (and Hannah and I might, one day) so I'm gonna leave this one there.
James Cook (Skins)
Eh, I'm not sure about this one but I think it's the fact that he's (supposedly) so INCREDIBLY HETEROSEXUAL, that like Skandar, if he ever had sex with another man, he'd top. Thinking about this now, though, I'd kinda like to see some bottom!Cook fic. *ponders*
