Ooh, thank you for all the advice! The main thing I'm worried about is the gore, really. I'm actually all right with things that are 'disturbing' and think I can cope with the majority of what's on that list. I find 'disturbing' books and films really interesting actually, it's just...graphic descriptions of gore and violence that tend to worry me. I'm really squeamish about that sort of thing. I can deal with just blood, but I assume it gets more graphic than that? Horror, too. I'm not used to reading horror books or watching horror movies and I know this is a bit more complicated than that, but still!!
It's funny that you said to watch the film first, because I heard about the film before I heard about the book, and discovered it all that way. But I decided to read the book instead because I felt like I'd be more okay with reading about gore/violence/etc than I would seeing it, if that makes sense. I did already watch the trailer though, to see if I thought I'd be able to cope, and I decided I probably wouldn't. :/
I think I'm going to be okay with the book, though. I've just never really read any books that are particularly gory or anything so I'm not sure how disturbed I'll be!

Thanks again. :)
