lessons in roommate-finding
one of my roommates just moved out, and the task of finding a replacement totally existed. the first ad did not get many responses, but the second did.

Starting December 1, there will be a room available in our Bridgeport apartment. You'd be living with two female students, one a graduate student and one an undergrad. We don't care if you're male or female, a student or employed or whatever, just as long as you don't suck. We're pretty easygoing and hope you are, too. We tend to keep odd hours, but we obviously keep things quiet if someone is sleeping.
Laundry, internet, and cable are included.
The downstairs neighbors have a dog in their apartment, so you probably shouldn't be afraid of dogs. We have considered getting a dog ourselves, but we're in no hurry and can postpone it if you don't like dogs. It's OK if you have a dog; just let us know and let us meet it before you move in.
No cats; we're allergic.
We don't smoke cigarettes. If you do, you should use the back porch/stairwell. It's enclosed, but definitely chilly in winter.
We like bikes and hope you might, since we don't want ours to freeze outside overnight. If you're more into public transit, we're close to the Orange, Green, and Red Line trains, plus the Halsted bus among many others. There is ample street parking, though no garage.
If you'd like to see the place, anytime on Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday would work. Please tell us a bit about yourself in your response, and include when you would want to visit.

we're two 20-something female students, though we don't care about your occupation, age, or gender too much. you should be easygoing and moderately tidy, just like we are.
the room is available anytime after december 1st. you can see the place immediately; just let us know when you'd like to visit.
