"in the corner, beside the daisies" replied the mother
"but isn't that where the red roses were last year?"
"it is indeed." answers she
"but where did all the roses go mother?"
"they died last fall and were overcome by bleeding hearts"
and then they fell silent
for they both knew what was soon to happen
