for boston, for boston 'tis here that truth is known

Feb 13, 2005 15:28

Well I have returned from the eastern glow of Boston,Massachusetts.
It was perfect, everything was amazing.
I am so in love with that city.
It actually only snowed one day while I was there, every other day was very nice out.

I'll do the rest of the trip under the cut so check it if you want
there are a ton of pictures, but they are kinda kickass
I think you would be a fool not to look

Sunday, Feb. 6th

My flight was at 7 AM so I didn't sleep at all and both my parents met me at the airport (kinda weird) and the plane ride wasn't bad. The whole fact that JetBlue has TV for everyone is really awesome. So mike picked me up and it was so rad to see him. Then we had this huge fiasco trying to
get to the hotel, got kinda lost, then spent $10 on a taxi ride for like 3 min. but we eventually made it to the hotel and went out exploring in the city. On account of the superbowl the city was pretty dead but that was kinda nice. We walked FOREVER though, like looking back on it I can't believe how much we walked but it wasn't terrible cold outside and i had my completely unecessary boots on so it was all good. The snow everywhere was really beautiful, I have to admit. So day 1 was pretty kickass.

Monday, Feb. 7th
So I woke up retardedly early and then fell back asleep and didn't wake up until like 2 in the
afternoon. Something about those hotel room curtains that just completely obliterate the sun. So It was
really nice out, aside from the 35-40 degree weather(which I'm told is a "nice day" in Boston) That is
just too cold for me, but the sun was out so it was pretty gorgeous. I went downtown and went ontop of the
tallest building in Boston called "The Prudential" and I had this great 360 degree view of the whole city.
Then I walked up and down Beacon Hill and throughout the alley ways. Boston is so old and such amazing buildings. Walked in the gardens some more and through Boston Commons and then went to the original Cheers bar that the show was based off. I bought a bunch of dumb souvenirs(a reoccuring trend with me on this trip) and talked to a couple people there about the fact that my dad was on the show. Then I went down to the waterfront and treated myself to a really expensive dinner, but thats ok cause I'm on vacation, right? ...walked around some more(did that A LOT) and went home for the night.

Tuesday, Feb. 8th
This was definetly the best day I had while I was there. I got up wicked early (another re-occuring trend) and went out to Harvard. I walked all through Harvard yard & there so many cute boys and they went to school there so you know they were probably wicked smart (which probably means they could be d-bags but whatever) So I walked all over the friggan place and spent money on shit I dont need at all! (like movies and Paul Frank shirts) but whatever. Then I met Mike and we went to FENWAY PARK! and I was super, super giddy like an 8 yr old. but it was so much fun and I spent over $100 on Red Sox shit and we even took a tour. FUCKIN FENWAY BITCHES...ok sorry I was excited. SO Mike and I walked all over, went by MIT and it was really, really fun. COLD...but fun. I am pretty sure I annoyed Mike by bitching all day about cold I was...but I was!
Then, on account of the fact that I had been walking since 9 am my feet were fucking killing me so I had to go home and relax. and of course I fell asleep at like 10 (lame!)

here I am on the bridge

this little guy was running about the Harvard campus.

man, I was so close to the field. I can't wait to go back in the spring and go on the actual field. ohhhh man.

we also went in the .406 club (named for Ted Williams) which was pretty cool. and they had their own little hall of fame which was REALLY cool, with all the sox memorabillia.

then me and mike walked over the bridge(well one of many bridges(across the charles) to MIT

lastly,

Wednesday, Feb 9th
At this point I had realized that I had spent WAY too much money and needed to try and budget my expenditures....but I went to the aquarium anways. The best part was the penquins, but other then that I have been to wayyy better aquariums (IE. the montery bay aquarium) but it was fun none the less. Then I walked on over to Charlestown and then walked all over the North End and saw Paul Revere's house & all that jazz. I walked all downtown...i think I walked around the city that day..good lord! It was really nice though and very fun.

Thursday, Feb 10th
I was kinda sick this day, actually really sick. But I went out anyways, even though it was supposed to snow. I just ate some lunch (calm chowder, like I had almost everyday) and I went and walked through a bunch of old graveyards which were so gorgeous(which is weird, I know) then I decided to go see a movie...I saw The Aviator and it was really good, especially since I really dislike Martin Scorcese. Then I went back to the hotel so I could finally watch THE OC. I know, that is lame of me...but NEWSFLASH..I am pretty lame. But on the way home...IT SNOWED! and I got to walk in it. It was really really beautiful. I've never experienced that before, walking in snow and it was very different I must say. So then really randomly my cousin said he was in the city and wanted to come over & watch tv with me. So we played in the snow for a second then ordered pizza and watched tv.

Friday, Feb. 11th
I took the commuter rail out in the AM to hang out with Mike all day, out in Western MA...ah it was gorgeous. We also went out to Amherst and hung out with his amazing and hilariously awesome and really nice friends. I had a ton of fun just hanging out there. Then we stayed up all god damn night so I could catch my plane in the morning

man, I can't wait to go back.
