Oh really? Intriguing!! Isn't funny how the oddest little things can sneak into one's personal canon? And did you? Terribly sorry for being so doubtful then! I must have read that... the name sounds familiar, anyhow. *weary sigh*

Fair enough - angst certainly isn't too everyone's taste. And I see - how he's acting makes a lot more sense now. ^^ I guess my James-muse in my own head is just preventing me from seeing that - my own James is rather more fond of his 'duty', I think, than this portrayel of James. *g* Well, determined!James is certainly fun! And you're comment about how he seemed in the film is, I think, quite accurate.

I guess what I was really getting it in that comment was that I was looking for (maybe, in the future) some sort of... hmm... delving into, of his regret/lack thereof? Just me being silly, though - it is your story!

Truly, can anyone ever stop being a fanfic writer, I wonder? At least, in their own minds? *g* And the name Sarah Brennan sounds familiar for some reason...

*g* I suppose so, yes. Hadn't though of that one. Despite the fact that I suppose I myself have done something like that... except by using British English in place of Canadian! Well, and I'm not half as limited in swearing as young James would have been!

Yes, I'm actually not on the whole sure where I got the idea from, as it seems to have come from out of the blue, but somehow the Gaelic has stuck to my James-muse like a barnacle.

I'm glad I was able to clear things up a bit.

As for what you were getting at: patience, my dear. I was already writing a bit of delving into that area into the third chapter, before I'd even posted this one. And in any case, I actually find it both amusing and a bit flattering to be told that I possess a writing style with a "startling" lack of angst.

I think Miss Brennan is certainly giving it the old college try. Incidentally, she used to go under the lj name of Mistful, if that rings any bells, and she's still very popular here on lj.

On language: I am not multilingual, but I pick up vocabulary like a lint roller picks up lint, and about half of the random loose-change nouns I've picked up, from numerous languages, seem to be expletives. They escape me involuntarily whenever I happen to stub my toe or bash my funnybone on something, et cetera. On a related note: people look at you funny when you shout things in both German and Japanese.
