Day 6: Favorite Friendship

Okay, the number of friendships is by definition even more than the number of characters, so this would be really difficult if I didn't set some criteria of my own. I am excluding from the definition of friendship all pairs that I also ship romantically. Because basically all my ships are also great friends, except Kate/Will...so I am excluding Josh/Donna, CJ/Toby, Cj/Danny, Sam/Ainsley, Leo/Jed and Josh/Sam from consideration.

Two of the show's great friendships, between Josh and CJ and Josh and Toby, I do love, but in both cases they seem much more like siblings. That is why I like them, but also why it's hard for me to think of them as "friendships." I am instead seeking a relationship that is not so close that it becomes romantic or familial, but is still awesome in it's friendship.

There are other friendships that I would like, but they aren't developed fully or eventually become something I like less. CJ and Donna are a good example of the latter.

Thus, the friendship that wins for me, and was actually the first that came to mind when I saw today's meme, is Donna and Sam. They are two people who genuinely care about each other, share a devotion to the President and a love of Josh...and I enjoy the scenes in Seasons 2 and 4 when they get screen time as pals. They can be affectionate without seeming at all interested in each other, and they're believable as people who get along well. They are really cute friends. :)

Also...an icon! :) This one is simpler, 'cause I wasn't really in an iconing mood today. This is an homage to my favorite Donna and Sam moment.

Thanks for reading. :)

See you tomorrow for Day 7!
