Minimerlin's awesomeness has turned me into something of a con obsessed crazed fangirl looking for her next fix...con enthusiast shall we say? And despite Con.txt's June date (which, thank you
solar_cat for telling me about that :DDDD), I feel like there needs to be MOAR CONS THIS YEAR

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Okay, sorry, I'm done being a horrible human being now.
Let us just say that even if you think that minimerlin was really really low key, and taking into account that ras_elased did most of the heavy lifting at the end, I still had a few dozen moments of extreme murderous rage towards LIFE. solar_cat ran everything the first time we did minimerlin, and as she told me during the con [to paraphrase and perhaps mangle her sentiment entirely], "I then understood why many con organizers were bitches at their own cons."
I'm not saying that I regretted it in the end, but I am not one of life's coordinators, and I'm certainly not running minimerlin next year. So that's just one person's experience right there at least.

ummm, do you mind going into details, like WHY you had moments of murderous rage? I'm trying to think of what all would need doing, and all I'm thinking of is 1) find a decently-priced hotel that can accommodate our crazy awesome 2) figure out how much food we're going to need 3) figure out how much said food is going to cost and then how much each person's going to have to pay 4) figure out vid show/any other possible activities. WHAT AM I MISSING, BB, HELP OUT A COORDINATING-LY-CHALLENGED PERSON!

10)Figure out what the fuck you're doing during the con. That one I foisted off on ras_elased and cherrybina, who were awesome and thus I didn't have to think about that. I guess what I would advise is to try and strike a good balance between organization and free form. You don't want to micromanage, but all sitting around going "what'd you wanna do?" "I don't know, what do you want to do?" is not actually that much fun. Let people know what their options are, and don't take it personally if they opt out of ( ... )

okay so...that's a lot I didn't think about, but still doable I think. Hopefully. Maybe.
I will probably have an interest poll put up in like, 3 weeks or so after all my exams (OH MY GOD, EXAMS *HYPERVENTILATES*) are finished and I can think again, just to see what the hypothetical number of fangirls would be like. WHO KNOWS MAYBE IT WILL JUST BE ME AND YOU IN A HOTEL ROOM WATCHING MERLIN.

I think for me a lot of the stress came from learning on the job. Like you, I thought it would be 3 or 4 simple things to take care of and I didn't realize that while there might be only a few larger things there were a lot of smaller ones as well. Also organizing people tends to be difficult. But hopefully my description didn't scare you off and will be helpful when you're trying to figure out things for yourself.
IF IT JUST YOU AND ME ARE IN A HOTEL ROOM I WILL PROBABLY MAKE YOU WATCH GENERATION KILL. BUT I WILL COME AND IT WILL BE AWESOME.

You were so helpful, I can't even tell you. I'm still pretty sure I'm going to attempt this (lord help us all), I'll just be older and wiser going into it. Or something.
THAT IS A-OKAY WITH ME. I WILL INTRODUCE YOU TO SOMETHING IN RETURN. LIKE, UM. DUE SOUTH? DO YOU KNOW DUE SOUTH?

*breaks out the pom poms* *\o/* You can do it, you can do it!
YOU MISSED THE BRUNCH WHERE I SPENT LIKE, HALF AN HOUR TALKING ABOUT IT WITH PEOPLE AND DESCRIBING TO wayfarersgirls HOW AWESOME DUE SOUTH WAS AND WHY EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH IT.
