[Hitsugaya is doing all he can to spend as much time outside of his apartment as possible. Bad enough he was stuck there for a few days last week, but he had to deal with a mother hen in the form of his lieutenant. The yelling had been fun. Really.
He is on his own today, having done his ritual walk through town. He might be becoming a bit of a regular in the item shop, if this ducking in to look at things is going to become a habit. (Hey, it's something to do and one never knows when something useful might show up.) He goes to the grocery store around mid-day and grabs something quick and easy to eat.
Hitsugaya ends up just downstream of the bridge on the southern end of town, sitting on the bank of the river. It's a little cold today and, while he's recovered from the mushi infection, he's still sitting in the sunlight and wearing a jacket. He normally wouldn't, but... Such is life. After eating, he picks up his journal and leaves a quick message. His tone is simply curious, mostly neutral.]
[Voice]
How many people actually use this magic here?
[He turns back to the river, brow furrowed as he occasionally tosses a pebble into the water. He's listening and not doing much else. Much better to focus on half-formed voices of potentially useful spirits than those damned echoes that have been plaguing him of late.
Gods, but all this free time is just stupid.]
