I went down to the river
I went down in the valley
and by the time I got there
I'd completely forgotten
I ran away
from you
to the moon
I went to a doctor
He said that he could help me
He said don't you worry, honey
These things can be forgotten
Just forget him
and know someone new
will come around
Well, I prayed with a catholic
Priest in the morning
I had no clue what I was saying
But I hope that he was humored
It took my mind
off of you
for a few
But these words that I write cannot hide you
And these things that I think only think me through
'til I'm standing
again
beside you.
And love was not the answer
to my questions of happiness
and nothing was found in any point on my atlas
I ran around
I ran away
I ran me down
Now I'm not trying to vanish
or find some kind of God
Hell, I don't really know what I'm doing at all
But I'm leaving
and I'll tell ya
When I get there
Baby, don't you worry
We'll meet again someday.
And maybe we'll be in better points of our lives like we said
and we will love
and be loved
or walk away.
