"Well! Did you have fun on your date?" Athena said from the comfort of the sofa, not looking up from her book. And then ducked as Giselle's handbag skimmed the table behind her. "Yes, no, currently locked in the throes of passion with some guy? Please tick the box applicable." She swayed slightly to the side as a small pillow zoomed past, checking her ear. "I shall be taking that as a 'no' until further notice," she said, shutting her book and twisting around.
"You-!!" Giselle stopped, unsure of just what to say. She put her head in her hands and then said "you!" again, as if hoping for the words to articulate what she was feeling to spring from her lips automatically.
"Me, yes. Hello."
"I cannot believe you!"
"I don't think greeting you can count as a lie so I am supposing you didn't like the guy I set you up with?"
"He's an idiot!" Giselle, she told herself, Giselle breathe. "He spent the entire time talking about apples and his back problems! When I left, he winked at me and told me to come round to his place next time so I could help him "hold up the world" and I don't think that was a euphemism!"
"Probably not," Athena shrugged, pulling herself up so she was sat on the back of the sofa, all the better to talk to her human. "Poor Atlas. Never was good with the ladies. Still! My brother is coming over tomorrow. Fourth time lucky, right? And I don't think little old Hercules has got anything going on these days-"
She was cut off as a pillow thrown by Giselle hit her square in the face and sent her tumbling off her perch. "I let you do that," she said, from somewhere around the floor.
"You did not," Giselle sighed, heading up to her room.
