After a morning shopping and handwaved lunch with Parker, Isabel finally made her way back to the dorms carrying her bags of new summer clothes. On a whim, she stopped by the third floor on her way back to her room. Smiling at what she saw, Isabel knocked on the door.
"Hey yourself," she grinned. "What's so fascinating? Did you get a skin sample from a gremlin?" Leaving her packages by the door she walked over. "And if it's interesting, can I see?"
"Nothing too interesting. It's a sample of water from the sixth floor waterslides. There's biotin, which you wouldn't expect in random water, and chlorine," Greg said, scooting back and offering her a view of the slide through the microscope.
"Sixth floor water slides?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. "They didn't mention the water part on the radio. So you went adventuring? What did you think?" Stepping up to the microscope Isabel bent over and squinted through the microscope. "Oh that's pretty."
"It's better known as vitamin H. Which you really wouldn't expect to be so pretty, but there you go," Greg said with a shrug. "And yeah, I went adventuring. It was...interesting. There were slides and ladders and Xander brought doughnuts!"
Isabel stood up and turned around to face Greg. Leaning back she carefully sat on the edge of the desk. "It is pretty, sort of like those novelty ties they had that featured patterns based on mixed drinks. I got one for my dad last year. I'm sorry I missed it," she said. "It sounds like it must have been fun. And Xander and doughnuts pretty much go together. It's like a universal constant or something."
"See, a lot of stuff looks kind of kaleidoscopic when stuck under a microscope," Greg said, smiling at her. "It was fun. We found a whole corridor of rooms that Bridge had never seen before, though, so there'll definitely be more adventures."
"It is surprising, finding something pretty in something so ordinary. I guess it was also suprising to find water slides in a dorm room?" Isabel smiled back. "And yay for more adventures!"
"Just a tad surprising, yeah. But I'd been forewarned," Greg said with a half-smile. "It was huge, too. Physically impossible if I hadn't known about the hypercubing thing. I'm still confused by it, which is why I'm running the tests on water, and I have a carpet sample to look at later, too."
"You're going to solve all the mysteries of this place aren't you?" she teased. "But I'm glad you were warned. Brain breakage can be painful. I wouldn't want to see that happen to you."
"Aww... Poor Greg," she said, reaching out to pat his arm. "We have to get you chocolate. It helps."
"Shopping," she grinned, "A bunch of us went shopping this morning, I picked up a few outfits and a bathing suit for class. We're going kayaking. What I had wasn't going to work."

He gestured at her bags. "So, been shopping? Or just...I don't know, carrying around bags for no reason?"

And then he mentally chastised himself for being so lame.
