“Why won’t you fall for me?”
Hyunseung was taken aback when Junhyung whispered those words.
“I - uh - Jun.”
“Are you scared?”
Hyunseung shook his head, clutching the hem of his shirt.
“Then why?”
“I - I don’t know.”
Junhyung sighed as he walked closer to where Hyunseung was standing at.
“Seung, are you scared?”
Hyunseung hesitated at first but eventually nodded his head. Junhyung smiled tenderly,” You don’t have to be scared, Seung - ah.”
“But what if I get hurt? What if I don’t do it right and you’d leave me? What if -“
Junhyung suddenly hugged him, running his hands up and down Hyunseung’s back in comfort.
“You need to trust me, Seung.”
“I do Jun, but - I don’t know.”
Junhyung pulled back and gave him a reassuring smile.
“I promise not to hurt you.”
Hyunseung was still unsure.
“I promise to catch you when you fall.”
Hyunseung sighed.
“I will always keep my promise, Seung - ah. So, will you please fall for me?”
Hyunseung needs to give it a chance, and he does trust Junhyung very much, so he nodded.
“Really?” Junhyung was smiling like an idiot now.
“Yeah, I guess I could give it a try.”
“Okay.” Junhyung said excitedly as he moved behind Hyunseung,” At the count of three, relax and lean back. I promise to catch you.”
Hyunseung nodded, feeling his heart beat wildly.
“One. Two. Three!”
And Hyunseung leaned back and started to fall. He panicked. What if Junhyung won’t catch him? What if he’ll drop and get hurt? So he closed his eyes and got ready for impact. But nothing came.
“You can open your eyes now.” Hyunseung heard Junhyung say. So he opened his eyes and saw the younger boy smile down at him. Junhyung’s arms were wrapped around him, protecting him.
“See? Do you really trust me now?”
Hyunseung smiled and nodded happily. Junhyung helped the older boy stand up properly.
“What’s the name of this game again? Thrust game?”
Junhyung laughed loudly. Thrust, thrust, thrust kept on playing around in his mind.
“Yah! What’s the name of this game?”
Junhyung just ignored his question as he grabbed Hyunseung’s wrist and started dragging him to the playground.
“Come on, let’s play at the swings before our mom comes to pick us up.”

“What could’ve happened if you didn’t catch me that day?” Hyunseung asks as he stares at their old playground, memories started flashing before their eyes.
Junhyung wraps his arms around Hyunseung’s waist as he kissed his cheeks.
“You’d still trust me though.”
“How do you know that?” Hyunseung asked as he turns to look at his lover.
Junhyung gave him a smug smile,” Because you love me even when we were still kids.”
Hyunseung blinked-and then laughs,” Yeah, I guess you’re right. You were the one who caught me whenever I fall anyway.”
Junhyung tightened his hug,” See? I will always keep my promise.”
“I promise to catch you when you fall.”
