I'll say ahead of time that my 2ed favorite director is Kevin Smith. He also has some great comics & a cartoon series.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
*Vincent, 1982. ::Vincent Price, Poe-esque poetry, claymation::

*Frankenweenie, 1984. ::Frankenstein dog, child mad scientist::

*Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, 1985. ::Pee-Wee is the American "Mr Bean", Danny Elfman score::

*Beetlejuice, 1988. ::Annoying ghost, Danny Elfman, cartoon spin-off that didn't suck, possibly influenced Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro::

*Batman, 1989. ::Joker, Danny Elfman, cartoon spinoff that didn;t suck & had the best voice actors ever::

*Edward Scissorhands, 1990. ::Vincent Price, Johnny Depp, Caroline Thompson screenplay, Pete Kozachik cinematography::

*Batman Returns, 1992. ::Danny Divito made a kickass Penguin::

*Nightmare Before Christmas (cowritten/produced only), 1993. ::Henry Selick Claymation, Danny Elfman, Caroline Thompson screenplay, possible inspiration for Grim Fandango::

*James & the Giant Peach (production only), 1996. ::Henry Selick claymation, Pete Kozachik cinematography, Ronald Dahl::

*Mars Attacks, 1996. ::A comical slap in the face to cliche alien invasion movies::

*Sleepy Hollow, 1999. ::Johnny Depp, hot rival, period fashion, men with long hair, was really into Christina Ricci at the time, twist ending::

*Lost in Oz, 2002 pilot episode. ::A shame this series was never made, I live the Oz books::

*The World of Stain Boy, 2000 ::Macabre animation based on "The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories."

*Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, 2005. ::Johnny Depp, Ronald Dahl, different enough from the Gene Wilder version to not be concidered a remake::

*Corpse Bride, 2005. ::Claymation, Johnny Depp, Caroline Thompson screenplay, Pete Kozachik cinematography, zombies::

*Sweeney Todd, 2007. ::Great musical, Johnny Depp, similarities to the Morrison Joker, cannibalism, I love Alan Rickman's voice::

*Alice in Wonderland, 2010. ::I own every version of Alice & Wonderland ever made, Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman::

*Frankenweenie remake: ::Remade by it's own creator, to show us how he's evolved::

*Dark Shadows: ::The only soap opera I've EVER liked, & it's about Vampires::

Movies I WISH Tim Burton would do or had done instead.

*American McGee's Alice, the movie.
*Something based on Edgar Allen Poe.
*Beetlejuice 2.
*The Path, the movie.
*JTHM & Squee claymation, or one for Invader Zim.
*Sam & Max claymation.
*Grim Fandango, the movie.
*A Series of Unfortunate Events.
*Lost in Oz. (Seriously, Burton & American McGee both need to get back on their derailed Oz projects).
*Short TV series based on Edgar Allen Poe stories.
*Clue (cartoon series based on the 90s book series).
*The Nutcracker & the Mouse King (Grim it up a little, update the 19th century dialog, but keep the period fashion).
