Summary:A Patchwork Family is a series of Post-Quest AU Frodo/Sam stories in which Frodo rescues an abused, abandoned blue whippet that he names Huan. Through the love and devotion of Sam and Huan, Frodo is healed and able to remain in Middle-earth. These are mostly gentle stories with no more than a Teen rating, and feature some humor, some fluff, some angst, some hurt/comfort, but mostly lots and lots of love. They are listed below as much as possible in chronological order. If you are new to this verse, 'Huan', 'Out of Shadow, Into Light' and 'A Journey to the Havens' are the most important stories to read.
I can hardly express how much I adore this beautiful, amazing, brilliant heart warming series. This is just what makes me warm and fuzzy to read. I go to it often and just re read whatever catches my eye. It is such a delightful series so captivating and engaging. I adore the way she writes both Sam and Frodo it is so ic to me. It is how I would picture their life together.
I could go on and on with love for this series. It is worth each and every word. She has such a talent with writing them both. It is glorious to escape into their world and feel like you are wrapped in a warm blanket. :)))))))
Home Fires Burning (R, 3813 words, S/F) The first one is from lbilover and it is beautifully written it has such great imagery. I loved that it was set in the Shire and it had a warm, cozy feel to it. It made me happy to read this and every word was lovely. The pov and ending were perfect. These words brings out the romantic in me and I love it...Sam's arms are so strong... Are they strong enough to shelter him, hold the ever-looming darkness inside him at bay... instead he will grab with both hands the tendril of hope that fate and Sam have offered, hold on tight, and wait to see which road the future has in store for him.
Glorious writing.....
Harvest (NC-17, 3000 words, S/F) aliensouldream wrote a delightfully perfect story. I loved the changing of the seasons and a glimpse of my favorite season Autumn in the Shire. I adored each word but this sentence is one of my favorites...Together they walked home in the moonlight and to Sam it was a magical journey steeped in elvish wonders.
This story warmed my heart and made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The ending was so lovely *happy sighs*

Why I loved it? It was so peaceful and touching... I loved each and every word. Hard to believe this is the first time she wrote for this pairing it was just delightful. Sam was courageous and brave the perfect protector for Frodo.
These were one of my many favorite lines....“When the ring’s destroyed, then we can be whatever you want to be Mr Frodo.”
“I think I just want to be yours, Sam,”
And then Sam saying, “You already are mine, Mr Frodo. You shouldn’t need me to tell you that.”
I melted while reading this story. It felt like a missing scene that should have been in the movie. Reading this made me happy, and feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Why I loved it: This was lovely and adorable I thought she picked the best colors. They were vibrant and so pretty. I liked the flowering tree surrounding Sam and Frodo. The little details are perfect with their hair, hands and even their finger nails. The kiss was a perfect ending. Once again she drew something I wish had been in the movie.
