Title: Were Else Would I be
Author: CWB
Rating:NC-17
Word Count:34.910
Warnings:None
Summary:John and Sherlock's five-year-old granddaughter spends the weekend with them in Sussex. Sherlock happily indulges her whims, and John takes care of them while quietly revisiting the past thirty years of their lives together.

Why I loved it:This is one of the most glorious, sweet fics. I have read it twice and will have to read it again soon. It makes me melt into pure happiness. This fic had me teary in a few places but they are happy tears. Sherlock and John were in character but softened with age and life experiences. And I adored their charming and super cute granddaughter. She was just precious and had Sherlock and John wrapped around her finger. Sherlock and John just felt so real, two randy teenagers after all those years together.

Sherlock kept bees and he was perfect with them. John was trying to figure out what to do with himself. But they worked it all out together. There was so much depth to John (and to Sherlock's love for him) in there that I felt I could drown in the beauty if his character.

Excerpt(optional):
John stands in the bright, airy kitchen and stirs more black pepper into the pasta sauce, taps the wooden spoon on the side of the pot, and wipes his hands on a tea towel. Satisfied that the simmering sauce can fend for itself for a while, he walks out into the back garden where Sherlock is sitting with Imi in his lap, the two of them happily lost in their own little world. As they talk Imi styles Sherlock's hair, her five-year-old fingers making short work of little plaits and ponytails all over his head, each secured with a pastel barrette or bright elastic band.

“Don't worry, Papa,” she says, “these are the special ouch-less elastics. Mama got them at the Boots on Baker Street.”

“Well, that certainly is a relief,” Sherlock answers, sitting still under Imi's careful administrations.

“Do you want a pink or purple scrunchy for the top, Papa?”

“I rely entirely on your expertise, Imogen. Whichever you think is best.”

John leans against the wall and watches their granddaughter put the finishing touches on Sherlock's hair. She climbs down off his lap when she's done and stands in front of him, her small hands tented together, fingertips pressed to her lower lip, in perfect imitation of her Papa. She's barefoot and she shifts back and forth on pale, skinny legs as she assesses her work.

Title: And Then Their Were Four
Author:suitesamba
Rating:NC-17
Word Count:2,054
Warnings:None
Summary:Sherlock and John are retired in Sussex, but then again, so are Mycroft and Lestrade.

Why I loved it:This fic is such a lovely read. Great POV's all around. This was very tender yet had a bitter-sweat feel to it very much like life. The four of them had each other and their friendship with so many wonderful memories. One can hope to be so lucky as to have that kind of love and support in one's golden years, for that is what makes them truly golden (as it does this fic)!

Title: The Day After
Author:Hums Happily
Rating:G
Word Count:1,144
Warnings:None
Summary:“John? What day is it?” Sherlock looked up from his book, removing his glasses and slipping them into his pocket as his gaze fixes upon John.

“The fifteenth of February, Sherlock,” John replied, not bothering to look up from his own text. “And very warm for the season, but you really ought to go put on at least a thick jumper.”

Why I loved it:They were soooooo sweet and this fic had me smiling from ear to ear. This story was just so touching and very moving. Those two were perfection together and such romantic softies inside. :))))))
