Due to family visits our already cramped apartment has gotten seemingly even smaller, and my sister and I are back to sharing the same room that we slept in fifteen years ago. Ridiculous! My sister works and studies subjects with actual knowledge in them, and cannot fall asleep unless the room is pitch dark and completely silent. Whereas I am an ( Read more... )

I completely understand the problem with the character designs, but I was enjoying the story and LOVED the general direction and look of the show,so I accepted it as part of that. In a way I'm glad that a story about girls can be girly and cute while still having a serious plot and meaning (even though I know the designs are mainly aimed at adult male moe fanboys, shush)

Hunger Games was... yeah. It was fun but it seemed to be congratulating itself too hard on NOT having some weak-ass twilight approach to young adult female characters... I was like OK so you don't suck, now what? It's no replacement for Battle Royale, that's certain XD;

I WON'T SPOIL ANYTHING. I'm gleefully waiting to see people's reactions to the plot twists live XD though I imagine following the book and series at the same pace might be confusing/detract from both? You're getting two versions of everything at once. EG RENLY AND LORAS. That scene... never happened XD they aren't even connected until the second book! I'M NOT COMPLAINING. This episode was obvs HBO reminding us they mean business with this whole sex/nudity thing XD

it's just that lately I've come to the realization that I HATE cutesy girls. You're only allowed ot be cutesy until you're 10 years old. After that, BE FIERCE.
So the "kawaii" voices and ambiguous lesbian plot just made me roll my eyes. I liked the music a lot and the psychedelic parts were cool but yeah. I don't have the patience for Moe shit. :|

It's actually really nice reading and watching at the same time because the show leaves a lot out (for good reason. Flashbacks for example in the middle of conversation are great in books but do not work well on screen XD). So I get these nice fillers when I read. :)
Also this episode was the one with the biggest changes so far. I mean, the whole scene with Catelyn's sister was AMAZING (and super disturbing!) but it was VERY different in the book. So was the scene with Ned and Jaime. I love both version and I get to appreciate both at the same time and think "why did they decide to do this that way?" and stuff like that. :)
I also watch every episode twice. XD Once when it comes out and once on Thursday with Sveta, Danna, Nevet & Shany on TV with subs. XD
And yeah, HBO definitely went on a reminder episode. XD It was like "THERE WAS NO SEX SCENE FOR 2 EPISODES STRAIGHT. BRING ON THE FRONTAL NUDITY AND THE GAYS. GO GO GO" XD
