Once inside Bryce took off her jacket and hung it on the back of a chair and set her shoes next to the door, Jason followed suit. To Bryce's surprise his sweatshirt was completely dry, but his jeans were drenched. His hair was clinging to his face and dripping water onto his cheeks. Bryce tried not to let herself get too caught up with him again, but he wasn't making it very easy. "Would you like some hot chocolate?" She asked pushing the memory of their first date out of her mind.

"That sounds great." Jason replied.

"How about I get you a pair of my basketball shorts first, I might even have a pair of yours here somewhere." Bryce said laughing slightly.

"That would be good." Jason said smiling

"Okay, I'll be right back." Bryce walked down the hallway to her room. She could feel Jason watching her but she didn't acknowledge it in any way. Bryce returned five minutes later with her hair wrapped in a towel wearing her blue basketball sweatshirt from the previous year and a pair of light gray sweatpants. She was carrying a pair of green shorts that said 'Warren Basketball, which was her and Jason's high school, and a towel. She handed them to Jason and said "there's a bathroom down the hall and to the right."

"Okay" Jason said. Bryce watched Jason walking down the hall. Having him in her apartment made Bryce realize how much she really missed him, which she found odd because she was the one who walked away.

She went into the kitchen and made two cups of hot chocolate. As Jason came out of the bathroom Bryce was carrying the hot chocolate into the main room. She set the cups down on the coffee table. She turned around and ran right into Jason.

"Sorry," she paused, "I didn't know you were there"

"It's okay" Jason said. He sat down in the old leather reclining chair. He took his cup of hot chocolate and began drinking it. "This is really good" he said after Bryce had sat down and began drinking hers.

"Thanks" Bryce mumbled drinking more of her hot chocolate. She sat at the opposite end of the couch. She refused to let herself fall for Jason again and get hurt by yet another Miller. They sat in the room just drinking their hot chocolate until Bryce couldn't stand the silence anymore. "So what do you want to talk about?" There were a few moments of silence while Jason tried to figure out exactly what he wanted to say and how to say it, without upsetting Bryce.

"What have you been up to the last three months?"

"I started college here, what about you?"

"I started college back home"

"How is everyone there?"

"They are all pretty good"

"That’s good" Bryce paused "Jason, why are you really here?" Jason took a few seconds to compose his thoughts before he spoke

"Well, I want to know what happened with us and why you left so quickly"

"Jase you deserve a--" Jason cut Bryce off

"And I wanted to know if there was a chance that we could try this again." Jason said quietly. He stood up and walked over to Bryce. He sat down next to her and put his arm around her, pulling her closer to him. Bryce wouldn't look at him. "Bry, look at me" Jason pleaded. When she turned to face Jason he immediately noticed the tears rolling down her cheeks "Bry, don't cry" Jason said before lowering his face to Bryce's and kissing her lips gently.

"Jase, stop I can't... I can't do this." Bryce cried pushing Jason away then dissolving into a fit of sobs. Jason just sat there totally confused.

"Bry" he said then he waited for her to look at him. Once she did he continued "why can't you?"

"Jase you just don't understand"

"Then make me understand." He said once again moving closer to Bryce and wrapping his arm around her.

"I don't know if I can" She said leaning into his chest and covering her face with her hands while she cried

"Bry, I loved you, and I still do I'll wait as long as I have to for you to be able to make me understand." By now it was getting late and Bryce knew that her roommates probably were not coming home

"Jase let me think about it okay?" She said standing up. Bryce walked over to the closet and pulled out a few extra blankets and an extra pillow. "You can stay here tonight if you want; my roommates probably won't be home so you can sleep on the couch, if you want."

"Okay" Jason said taking the pillow and blankets from her and setting them on the couch.

"I'm going to go get some sleep." Bryce said wiping at her eyes. She began to head towards her room but Jason grabbed her arm and turned her around.

"Don't I get a goodnight hug?" This made Bryce smile so she gave him a hug

"Goodnight Jase"

"Goodnight Bry" Jason said as Bryce headed down the hallway. "I love you" He whispered once Bryce was down the hall.
