I finished reading Job today. There are a lot of great passages to comment on, but here is just one of my favorites. Job receives news in Chapter 1 that all of his children and possession had been destroyed. And what was his response?
At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised."(Job 1:20-21)
Job's first response was grief, but the next is worship. It's hard for me to imagine the loss of my entire family in one day, but I don't know if this would be my response. It's times like these when we see how strong our faith really is. May we place our trust in Him completely...not just for eternity, but for today!
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.(Romans 8:28)
