The Holiness of God
Tonight I read Habakkuk ch. 3. This section is quite a prayer. The same Jesus that did not come to judge or condemn marched through the land in indignation(v.12). Now, I havne't studied this chapter at all, so I don't know if this is describing Jesus' second coming. His brightness was like the light;He had rays flashing from His hand and there His power was hidden. Before Him went pestilence and fever followed at His feet(V4,5). That seems strange to me. We know that God always does what is right, so to see God in the light of displaying His anger and wrath is a spectacle. The prophet heard His speech and was afraid;(v.2). It's ok to be afraid of the Lord. We run to the Lord because of what He has done for us, this great and awesome God who is just. In your wrath remember mercy(V.2).
