Malachi was getting a headache. This wasn't exactly out of the ordinary for him these days. A side effect of being a clone that needed to be controlled, he knew, but the fact that he was on a ship with over eighty people on board made his main headache relieving activity a bit difficult. He had a hypospray of medication to relieve it for a short while though and used it now, not wanting to bother anybody. Sitting back, he closed his eyes and waited for the medicine to get rid of his headache.

Dealing with Malachi on the ship had been something he thought he had planned for. Instead, nothing had been quite the same since. Which, of course, is what happens when you let your younger, sex-needing, superspy clone that your creepy stalker ex-boyfriend/ex-boss made for his own pleasure stay on your ship because you can't let him stay with said ex anymore.

Still, somehow Malcolm thought this would be easier.

"Headache?" he asked with a hint of worry in his voice. "Or something else?"

"Headache, but I'm taking care of it," Malachi answers and shows him the used hypospray. It's incredibly strong stuff, something Malachi shouldn't be using so lightly, but he'd use anything that would allow him to get back to work and interrupt anybody else's schedule. "I thought you were working still."

"You disappeared, so I took it upon myself to find you. Make sure you weren't getting up to no good, the like."

"As you can see, I haven't been getting into trouble. That's something you do enough for the both of us."

"Me? I'm the one who keeps everyone out of trouble. But so long as I don't have to send you to Phlox or the Captain, then we're fine here."

"I've heard stories about that," he says, looking at his original with slight amusement. "The captain's busy." Phlox doesn't even get a mention, knowing that if he was sent to sickbay, the doctor would most likely take away the medication.

"I meant for more disciplinary reasons rather than anything directly related to your headaches."

"My previous comment still stands. I am not a member of his crew, Lieutenant. I would think any trouble I cause would be dealt with by you."

"Depends on the amount of trouble." He claps Malachi on the shoulder. "But we'll have that for when you are actually causing any. Come now, back on duty."

"I don't cause trouble," he replies and stiffens at the touch. All emotions are locked away and he's the dutiful soldier once more, more like his original than his more open self. "Yes, sir."

That distressed him more than anything else. Malachi did everything he could to be different from him, normally. "If you need to go...find someone..."

"I'm fine, Lieutenant. The medicine should last me an hour until the headache comes back." At least it's supposed to. Malachi's been using it far more than he was advised to and his body's been getting used to the drug. He's not sure anymore if it still would last an hour.

"If you're sure." And he'll leave it at that.

"I am." He goes back to the armoury to work, but it's not an hour before the headache returns. It's ten minutes after getting back to work that Malachi slips out once again to get away from people and noise that make his headache even worse. It's all Malachi can do to keep himself from collapsing in the hallway and make it back to his quarters, where he does collapse. Thankfully, Matthew's still at his lessons so the younger clone won't walk in on him and end up doing something like get him to sickbay.

But the lieutenant original might end up doing something like getting him to sickbay, especially when it seems that the ensign's gone again. Although, if it's bad enough to make him abandon his post again, then perhaps it was time to just help him deal with it first? Eventually, the door chimes. Because he doesn't want to just barge in, if Malachi's even in there.
