Possibly the last mousepad I will ever buy.

So... New Year's stuff later. My brother, cell phone maven that he is, gave me a Motorola Bluetooth car kit for Christmas. Now, I don't use a cell phone very much in any case... and if I'm going handsfree, I'd much rather be using a headset. So, I decided to turn this one in at CompUSA. This gave me about $120 in credit to use. I wandered around the store for a while, picked up a bundle of CD cases (I ran out some time ago), comtemplated a new joystick, and grabbed a 500W Antec SmartPower 2.0 PSU for $50 after a $25 in-store price reduction and a $25 MIR. (score!)

Wandering down the mouse aisle for no real purpose (I already have an MX1000) I noted a largish box with "ICEMAT" on it.

Ooooh.

I'd heard of this one... the insane company that makes mousepads of glass. The box was sealed, so I couldn't take a look inside, but hey! Store credit! So I took it with me.

Man... this is one sweet pad. None of the warping issues I've had with other pads, very nice, smooth, but not too slick surface... and utterly flat. Tracks perfectly with my laser mouse. It's glass, so I know it's hard enough to give me years of use without wearing down. The only downside? I really hope I never drop it. ^_^

Highly recommended for hardcore FPS'ers who are willing to drop $35 for a pad that you'll likely never need to replace.

Time will tell. Heh.

christmas, hardware, computers, cool stuff, geekery
